Swine Flu on Decline, Health Officials Say

By
CBSNews
(AP)  Health officials say swine flu was widespread in only four states last week, indicating the fall wave of illness is still declining.

Swine flu was widespread in seven states the previous week. Reported infections have been dropping since a peak in late October, when 48 states reported high levels of sickness.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the new data Thursday. The four states are Delaware, Maine, New Jersey and Virginia.

CDC officials say swine flu vaccine is increasingly easy to get, with more than 118 million doses now available. They say people should still get vaccinated because there could be another wave of infections this winter.

Why should I have to pay for my swine flu shot, when others queued up and got their shots for free, regardless of their finances? Either we all get it for free, or no one should get it for free.

WHO _Swine Flu Pope_ under investigation for gross conflict of interest, by F. William Engdahl, 8 December 2009, is an interesting read on the subject of swine flu.

sjc are you nuts, or a shill?? "we" did NOT "get on it"...vaccines (if they were even useful) were way too late - it's just been in the last two weeks that they've been available in san francisco - long AFTER the decline in cases began (back in OCTOBER)...the risk was WAY overblown therefore making this "outcome" look as IF something had been done...

This is good news. We got on it soon, the way we should and people were spared the worst of what could have happened. It shows what can be done if we head off problems before they become big. If we wait, those problems can become SO big, no one can do anything about them.
