Would Divorce Hasten Tiger's Return?

(CBS)  In the midst of scandal, Tiger Woods is being honored by his peers. For the tenth time in 13 years, he's been voted PGA Tour Player of the Year - mere days after being named The Associated Press Athlete of the Decade.

Despite the accolades, Woods continues to keep a low profile, his whereabouts still unknown, as they have been since the car accident that set off the media frenzy around him in the early hours of the day after Thanksgiving.

But while Woods has stayed silent, luxury watch maker Tag Heuer announced Friday it will "downscale the use of his image ... depending on his decision about returning to professional golf," adding "the partnership with Tiger Woods will continue."

"He needs to change this from a story about a man who has been cheating on his wife and being a bad husband and father to a man who's trying to transform and become a better person," observes Golf.com's Connel Barret.

The world's No. 1 golfer is said to be attending counseling sessions in the hopesof saving his five-year marriage to wife Elin.

But some speculate that effort is too late. "I think," says CBS News legal analyst Lisa Bloom. "Tiger is getting divorced, and I think Elin, if she is smart, is going to file first."

If the rumors of divorce turn out to be true, we may see woods back on the green sooner than expected, says Barret. "Instead of taking six months-to-a-year off, which is what I expected," he notes, "we might see him back in time for the Masters (in early April), which is the tournament that means the most to him."

By refocusing his attention on the sport he has dominated for more than a decade, says CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor, Woods may not be able to get his name out of the tabloids, but he would probably wind up back in the winner's circle.

There is no bargain for Tiger's wife. He has a preset deal carved in stone thru his able attorneys. If she stays and it will be for a short while till his playing days are over; then she can become unbelievable wealthy. Posed by Baileyccc

Tiger is the one who acted that deeply hurt and himilated his wife. He also risked giving her a STD. If her lawyer is drving a hard bargin he has only himself to blame. If he is to save his marraige he will have to take time off and get into counselling for his problem. If he decied not to put in the tie to save his relationship then she deserves all the money that her attourney can get out of him.

TAKE A MULLIGAN, TIGER!
Perhaps, a clean break is what is needed here to get all concerned parties back on track. Elin has been rumored to be in negotiations with Reebok for a shoe deal. Why not? Good for her. Take all the money you can garner and move on. Same for Tiger. The sooner it is decided, the better for them both, as well as the entire golfing world.
Who among us has never benefited from a mulligan?

The only thing those women he screwed are good for is sex. You wouldn't want to spend any time with them. They have nothing to say that you want to hear. If you're a heterosexual man any way. He's not a pervert. He's just an average man. Perverts are men who want to have sex with children, animals or dead bodies.

If apparently, his wife won't forgive him and try to rebuild the situation, what can Tiger Do? He must continue to provide for the proper care of his children, and conduct himself in a new way. This will be hard. Change is always difficult.

Well getting his divorce over with may not help him with a speedy return to the PGA, but it would certainly give him an idea of how much money he didn't have anymore after she raked him over the coals.
Go ahead and fool around on your spouse if you want to, just keep in mind that you stand to lose EVERYTHING if you do.....sort of like going to Vegas KNOWING that you'll lose everything that you took there.

If he doesn't return to golf, he could become a Porn Star or Pimp.
