On the Front Lines with Mexican Army

One of Mexico's most wanted drug lords was killed Wednesday in a gun battle with Mexican security forces.
Arturo Beltran Leyva - who called himself the "boss of bosses" - headed a powerful cartel based on the Pacific Coast. The government had offered a $2.4-million reward for his capture.
GlobalPost had a rare opportunity to join the 94th battallion of the Mexican army to see its work fighting the drug cartels. Watch as the army locates a marijuana field in the Sierra Madre mountains and sets up impromtu checkpoints during an urban operation.
