Jim Taylor
(CBS)
Back to CBS Radio News.
Jim Taylor was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay area. He got his first taste of news and the impact of event-coverage while delivering the Berkeley Gazette newspaper in the hills above the UC Berkeley campus during the free speech movement of the sixties.
After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Taylor became a one-man news department in radio stations all over Northern California. He spent a year spinning the hits in Hawaii, followed by 15 years at CBS-owned KCBS-AM in San Francisco.
It was at KCBS where Taylor was honored with a number of journalism awards, including Associated Press "California Reporter of the Year." He has spent the last several years at CBS-owned WCBS-AM 880 in New York City, where he continues to host a weekly Broadway Review program. Of all his accomplishments, Taylor is most proud of his Punt, Pass and Kick Regional award in 1961. He was eight years old.
Taylor lives in New York City with lovely wife Christine. They reside on the 31st floor of a Manhattan skyscraper with a couple of Burmese cats.
