NYC Holds Condom Design Contest
(AP)
Health officials want more people to wear condoms. New York City's next official condom could be wearing a new design by you.
The city health department is inviting the public to submit their suggestions for a special limited-edition design. The winning art will be featured on several hundred thousand official condom wrappers.
In recent years the city began jazzing up the wrapper on its free condoms. Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration now gives away more than 40 million condoms a year, up from 3 million in 2002.
The health commissioner says officials want to "keep people excited" about condoms.
Entries are due by Jan. 22.
