(CBS)  Tiger Woods' auto accident at his Florida mansion in the wee hours of the morning after Thanksgiving touched off touched off a media frenzy around the superstar golfer's carefully guarded private life, with numerous women coming forward claiming to have had a sexual relationship with him.

Before that, the married father of two young children had a pristine image and raked in hundreds of millions of dollars in endorsements.

And, while most of Woods' sponsors continue to stand by him, a major one is pulling the plug on a Woods-related product. PepsiCo's Gatorade won't be making any more Tiger-themed drinks.

The decision was made public before his recent troubles but, observes CBS News Correspondent Kelly Cobiella, the timing couldn't be worse for Woods.

"The more women that come out and the more mistresses we learn about," says so-called reputation doctor Mike Paul of MGP & Associates Public Relations, "the sponsors certainly have more of an evaluation going on, and there's increased pressure for them to at least consider dropping him."

And now, In Touch Weekly says it has obtained e-mails between Tiger and Rachel Uchitel, the first woman linked to Woods. On Nov. 9, Woods reportedly wrote Uchitel that theirs was much more than a fling. One missive cited says, "I finally found someone I connect with, someone I have never found like this. Not even at home. Why didn't we find each other years ago?"

This, as Woods' mother-in-law recovers after being rushed by ambulance from his Orlando home to a nearby hospital early Tuesday. Barbro Holmberg was treated for what are said to have been stomach pains and, say officials at Health Central Hospital, released 11 hours later. Barbro, 57, is a Swedish politician.

In the 911 call summoning medics, newly-released by police, a frantic woman, thought to be Woods' wife, Elin, is heard saying, "Oh, my god. ... My mom just collapsed! ... She collapsed in the bathroom. What do I do? What do I do?"

Listen to the 911 call

Once again, throngs of reporters were at the mansion and hospital looking for answers, and getting few. It turns out Barbro may have been suffering from nothing more than food poisoning, though the hospital wouldn't confirm it, Cobiella says. They also wouldn't say whether Tiger was at the hospital with her.

Pepsi sucks to act on heresay! I'm sure these women are full of it. Text messages... wow, nice to see corporations make decisions on sponsors based on facts! No wonder our companies are in the red.

Tiger - keep golfing like a star, and I'll keep paying to see you, and buy the crap you endorse!

I always liked Coke better, anyhow.

A little oral goes a long way. Maybe we could re elect Bush oops I meant Cheney and let him continue to screw everyone in sight or shoot us in the face like his friend.

Wasn't Clinton's scandal during his second term? I highly doubt he would have received a second if that happened during his first though.

Does anyone actually believe that EVERY one of these women is telling the truth?

Would anyone care about any of these scandalous allegations if Tiger had died from the crash? Would any of this be coming out if the crash happened at 2:30PM instead of AM? This seems to be a witchhunt precipitated by an unfortunate event. I, in no way, approve of what Tiger is alleged to have done, but how this is all coming out appears very suspicious to me.

For yeaer sports, actors, singers are on a high horse,,can never fall from grace..Well they do..I feel for the childrn born to such..A married playboy..They are paid alot of money cos they have the do csll dream jobs of playing sports etc. He had to know if he ran around companies be dropping him.. I like Gatorade..I don't buy things just cos some wrll known name is on the TV talking about it.
I use the TV ads to go to the bathroom. I turn them out. Mr Woods wrote his fate..The sad thing is he had the gall to think not of his family but his selfish and too weak minded to tell the hos he is married..He is not better then the ho he ran with .He has no cladd. I don't care for golf..

If these companies have any 'business sense' left at all...Pepsico won't be the only one no longer requiring Mr. Woods services!

It's not a good idea to have your product endorsed by a philander! Unless, you're TRYING to lose business?!

No offense to golf fans, but I've always found it funny that he endorsed all these athletic products anyway (Nike, sports drinks, etc.) You don't really have to be an athlete to play golf. Obviously Tiger's at the top of the sport, but I think a lot more of it is mental rather than physical (and therefore not as influenced by Gatorade, or Nike shoes).
