Tiger's Mother-in-Law in Stable Condition

(CBS/AP)  Updated at 12:41 a.m. EST

Emergency crews were summoned to Tiger Woods' Orlando-area mansion for the second time in less than two weeks Tuesday, this time because his mother-in-law was having stomach pains.

Barbro Holmberg was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital after someone called 911 about 2:35 a.m., hospital spokesman Dan Yates said. She was in stable condition later Tuesday and her condition was not serious, but Yates said he could not be more specific because of privacy laws.

Holmberg, who arrived in the U.S. a few days ago, lives in Sweden and is the mother of Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren.

Television footage showed Holmberg on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance, though she was not identified until late Tuesday morning.

Local media reports said she was transported on "advanced life support."

A black SUV with similar registration and license plates as the vehicle that Woods crashed last week was spotted following the ambulance, CBS affiliate WKMG-TV reported. An eyewitness told the station a woman inside the vehicle looked similar to Nordegren.

Yates said Holmberg was in a private room and the family has hired additional security to keep the media away. He said family members have visited her, but he would not say who.

"She's in a wing that helps protect her privacy," Yates said.

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, did not immediately respond to an e-mail requesting comment.

In other news, Woods' wife has had enough of the alleged affairs - now as many as 10 - surrounding the golfer and has moved out of their Orlando-area mansion, celebrity Web site Radaronline.com reports.

As more women surface, claiming to have had an affair with Woods, Nordegren has moved to a nearby home, also owned by the golfer, Radar reports.

Media attention has been focused on the world's No. 1 golfer since he hit a hydrant and a tree around 2:25 a.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The Florida Highway Patrol last week cited Woods for careless driving and fined him $164.

The accident - and Woods' refusal to answer questions about it - fueled speculation about a possible dispute between him and Nordegren.

Just days before the crash, a National Enquirer story alleged Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, Rachel Uchitel, who has denied it. After the crash, Us Weekly reported that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs claims she had a 31-month affair with Woods.

Last week, Woods issued a statement saying he had with unspecified "transgressions" that he regrets with "all of my heart." He did not elaborate.

A police report on the crash released Monday showed that a Florida trooper who suspected Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer's blood results from the hospital he was taken to after the crash, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information.

A witness, who wasn't identified in the report, told trooper Joshua Evans that Woods had been drinking alcohol earlier. The same witness also said Woods had been prescribed two drugs, Ambien and Vicodin.

Will Tiger Woods lose some of his endorsements as a result of this incident and the way he handled it?
 Yes
 No
 Not sure
The report did not say who the witness was but added it was the same person who pulled Woods from the vehicle after the accident outside his home. Woods' wife, Elin, has told police that she used a golf club to smash the back windows of the Cadillac Escalade to help her husband out. His injuries were minor.

The sister of a neighbor who called 911 after the crash told troopers that Woods' mother, Kultida, and Holmberg were also at the scene, but the AP has not been able to confirm that.

Eva Malmborg, a spokeswoman for Holmberg, said Tuesday that she could not comment on the reports about a woman being taken from Woods' neighborhood to the hospital.

"I haven't been in contact with her and like I said I don't know where she is - and so I can neither confirm or deny anything," Malmborg said.

Malmborg confirmed Holmberg had taken a week's leave from her job as Gavleborg county governor in central-east Sweden, but said she did not know where Holmberg had gone.

According to the New York Post, Holmberg has been visiting Nordegren for the past two days.

There was no sign of emergency workers later Tuesday morning at the Woods' gated community, where luxury SUVs and cars drove in and out as a few reporters and television news trucks milled around outside.

brianbwb, You are the REAL reason for the lack of progress of your race. YOU alone. Why? Beacuse you see a racist world where every mistake made by a person of color can only be explained by white racism. So when Tiger Woods commits adultery with numerous women, of course his behavior is not to be judged but rather it is the white media who are committed to destory the black man. You continue to apologize for any mistakes of your race because all of it is thrown under the carpet because we live in this white racist world. YOUR BELIEF system pushed upon by elements in the black community is what enslaves your race. Thank God most blacks today don't listen to your nonsense. You are committed to see the white man in 1950's terms and you are completely blind to the fact that the kids of today know almost nothing about those so-called "happy days". God rest your hateful soul.

BTW, "eyesclosed",

I wouldn't necessarily say that "Whites" are the devil, but I would say that, given the history of inter-ethnic relations, If one is of "Black", Asian, African, or Native American heritage then one could hardly be blamed for a cynical view of those calling themselves "White".

Because I am atheist, I don't believe in the "devil" but some "Whites" who wield a lot of power, are definitely anathema to civilized existence, and they have convinced an inordinate number of otherwise well meaning "whites" that they should fear and adopt an attitude of hostility towards those who are of different ethnic heritage.

And those they have convinced, such as yourself, will perform extreme mental gymnastics to try to convince yourselves otherwise.

But I am about to pull your card with this statement, which, if you were not brainwashed, would have thought of yourself.

I am "Black" not by choice, or even by birth, but because those considering themselves "White" used epithets to justify in their own minds why I am not as "human as they", and those epithets are based only on one factor, my melanin content. The epithet has nothing to do with my character, as those who use it do not know me. I use the term "Black" in order to replace their epithet with a more direct expression of their epithet, to converse with those who cannot conceive of a simple truth, and seek to ascribe stereotypes to me, in order to justify their own fear.

That simple truth is that I am a man. There is no such thing as "race".

Those who cannot understand this are trapped in a delusion of "us" vs."them", and consider me one of "them", it is they who created the division, I only deal with it, confront it resist it, and defeat it.

For those not down with that, I got two words for ya...

I am sorry you have had to face prejudice in the past based upon your race. I am sure that could not have been a positive experience for you. But in the end whites and blacks will be here on this planet hundreds of years from now; so do we search for common ground to seek a positive future or do we continue to let our past history dictate never-ending acrimony between the races? Maybe I am stupid but I always hope for the best.

The problem with your "hope" is that the only "common ground" that "Whites" will accept is whatever continues the status quo. Therefore there is very little "common ground" between those who wish for progress, and those who resist it.

The consensus among "Whites" seems to be "Don't protest, just accept your place as second-class citizens and let us continue our old ways"

Not gonna happen while I draw breath.

Notice now that they have to deal with the negative consequences of using the n-word, they are all now with their panties in a bunch, when a "Black" comedian, or poet, or songwriter uses the word, ignoring that from us, it is not a derogation of an entire group of people, as it usually is when used by "Whites".

Every small bit of progress that we have made has been fought tooth and nail by those who wish to return to the "happy days". Even such socially inconsequential achievements as Hank Aaron breaking Ruth"s record was accompanied by death threats.

Peruse the comments about Obama on this site, those same people who cheered Bush policies now condemn Obama when he allows them to continue, the polls by "Whites" asking how many think Obama should be assassinated, the politicians wearing possum skins with the words "the other dark meat", and a litany of other insults too long for this page, are proof that in face very little has changed since the days of Malcolm X, save the meaningless and cosmetic fact that not "Whites" are now afraid to say a word they once wore proudly.

Your own words, enunciating the same false stereotypes used by racists "we don't pay taxes", etc., are proof that you have bought lock, stock, and barrel into the delusion.

Even here look at how much media (not controlled by "Black" people, btw) is being devoted to trying to destroy the career of a man who himself tried to break free from racial stereotypes, calling himself Cablanasian".

While I say his own all-too-human frailties opened the door, the rats have swarmed in, and will not be satisfied until Mr. Woods private affairs are all made public, his sponsorship eliminated, and his chances of attaining the stats of "world's greatest golfer" burdened beyond repair. Why? because the record this "Cablanasian" could break, just like the one Aaron broke, belongs to a "White" man.

It is clear to me that the divisions will outlive this country, and it won't be because of "Black", or "Cablanasian" people.

brianbwb; Now I know you really are a moron. Most NBA teams are subsidized by the taxpayers (mainly white) because the cost of their facilities are almost always paid for by local governments. The tax breaks paid for by the people allow owners to pay the massive salaries for professional atheletes. Let explain it to you. The NBA players association negotiates a NBA salary cap which is calculated based upon the average ownership income in the league. The NBA players are provided for in the NBA Salary cap structure a significant portion of the overall income for each individual franchise. There is no company in America where the ownership provides a similarly high portion of overall corp. income similar to the NBA structure. The Walmarts do not share crap with their employees. The top ten NBA teams all have a total team salary in excess of 69 million dollars, of which is shared by only twelve men. If you think NBA players are as exploited in comparison to other american workers (black and white), you must be certifiable. By the way the owners do share significant risk in becoming owners of sports franchises as a significant number have been forced to file for bankruptcy over the past few years. So maybe we should just do away with all of professional sports based upon the way it is set up at this time. You agree?

The stadium, being public property, is subsidized, not the teams.

The lie that taxpayers are mainly "white" is dis proven when you consider that almost every legitimate purchase in the US, from chewing gum and cigarettes, beer, soda, cornflakes, to mansions and yachts, have taxes involved, and everyone pays taxes. Here is just another racist stereotype and lie by the neo apologists. In fact, while the percentage of "Black" population that is poor is much higher than that of "Whites", the raw numbers show that many more "Whites" are poor, and thus fall into the same category as the poor "Blacks", paying sales taxes when they make what purchases they can afford.

On the other end of the scale we have the Fortune 500, all "White", 60% of whom paid no taxes, even though they made billions, and even received government welfare. So much for your "whites" paying taxes BS.

Now when Mike Jordan, at the peak of his career, stepped on court for a single game, it is estimated that some 400 million dollars circulated worldwide because of his talent, and "Whites" complained that he made 21 million in that one year of 86 games, calling him "overpaid".

Exploitation is exploitation, whether for a penny or a pound. The quantity does not diminish the nature of the inequity.

Owners risk nothing, they set up a corporation using other peoples' money, and if that business fails, they file bankruptcy, it is the corporation that is bankrupt, not the owners. They haven't lost a single penny. Seems you need a refresher course in financing.

Actually I feel there should be no salary cap, if the teams cannot afford players, then they shouldn't be in business anyway. The concept of amateur sports is even worse, college athletes generate hundreds of millions of dollars, but are forbidden to have any of it. This is simple slavery.

Here is a stat: 85% of the NBA is comprised of black BB players. Conclusion: The NBA is a black racist organization given the fact that blacks only comprise of 12% of the population in the US. Stats mean nothing unless there is a background study as to how the figures come about. I learned twisted social studies in elementary school, sorry my man, try one of the toughest universities in the country. You see life the way you want to see it. White man is the devil. Black man is exploited. Anything that contradicts that premise can be explained away by you, or so you think. You really need help.

"Here is a stat: 85% of the NBA is comprised of black BB players."

You left out important information, like who makes the majority of the money generated by b-ball players labor and lifetime sacrifice?

Certainly not the players, but the owners of the teams, and the television stations that sell ads during the games.

With that information, the proper conclusion would be that the NBA is a "White" racist organization given the fact that it's labor force is, as you say 85% "Black", but the distribution of profits and income generated by that labor force is nowhere near representative of the force doing the labor.

This is the real side, the side the apologists ignore.

The dollars.

Maybe you might ask for a refund from that tough university.

Hey Brianbwb, I really give up on you. Go ahead and think the white man is the devil. Obama was just a freaking piece of luck. So how exactly did Obama perform better in the racist south than Al Gore. (a white son of the south) Just freaking one man's luck. So when has America in a moment of dissatisfaction turned a black man to resolve the issues of the day? (Like last November) Correct! Never. Malcolm X said the white power structure in this country would never let the black man gain power or equality with the white man. Well I am here to tell you that the guy in the White House has more power than anybody else in this country. Malcolm X was wrong and so are you. Hope you gain some perspective in your life. If you focus on a productive goal in your life, you can make it. You do have some skill in your writing. Good Luck.

Again the delusional apologist for intolerance speaks.

Al Gore was also not perceived as a 180-degree departure, in fact he has always been a reluctant politician, in it only because he was following in his father's footsteps that he stayed in the game as long as he did.

Also, Gore lost respect when he refused to fight for the election that he had rightfully won, turning down appeals by "Black" voters to sign on to an investigation about our votes being discarded in Florida and Ohio, and thus surrendering the presidency to Bush.

If the president has more power than anyone else, then why are we still involved in two illegal wars, (the existence of which helped elect Obama) and those who caused them not facing justice for their crimes?

Answer, because he is not more powerful than those who wish to continue the illegal wars.

Power and equality? It hasn't happened yet, check any stat on salaries, insurance rates, cost of living, police brutality, property values, mortgage rates, gerrymandering, capital investment, and just about any other stat from any independent source, then come back here with that BS.

No president since Kennedy has been the "most powerful person in the land", Kennedy was killed because he was in the way of people more powerful than he.

So you keep swallowing the twisted social studies lessons you learned in elementary school if it makes you feel better.

I prefer to see life as it is, not the way you, or I think it should be.

By the way, as far as my life, I am having a ball, I "made it" already. But because I was able to escape the trap does not mean I think it no longer exists.

The Media and others will not be happy until they have given the "Full O.J. Simpson" treatment to Tiger woods (guilty or not). He has been targeted by the Media to make them money. (apparently, playing golf does not generate enough to make them happy). The man proved that he is not 'Superman' by having 'Human Failings'. That triggered a media 'Angst' and 'Kill the Golden Goose' frenzy the likes of what hasn't been seen since OJs murder of his Girl friend and her companion
Now we will have the destruction (in the news without trial) of another millionaire sports figure..

brianbwb, You are really messed in the head. You talk like Malcolm X before he went to Mecca! And that was almost 50 years ago! You see the world with pure hate and prefer to avoid anything that tells you people are changing. 68 Million Americans (mainly white) just voted for a black man to be our president and commander-in-chief. How did that happen you ignorant moron?

Show where anything Malcolm X said prior, or even after his pilgrimage was not true then, and is not true even now, then you will have a point. Good luck, you will need it.

A Black president?

Big deal, the rest of "Black America" is still dealing with the same ethnic intolerance that has always been directed at us. That one person was able to rise above it means nothing for the millions who are unable to.

President Obama is the result of a miracle of dissatisfaction, America at the time was so opposed to the continuance of the Bush doctrine that they voted for the person they perceived to be his polar opposite, even more opposite than Mrs. Clinton.

In short, we wanted (and want) a 180 degree departure from the status quo, but due to the fact that the president is not powerful enough to stand up to corruption, we are only getting a 30-degree departure.

Read for yourself some of the anti-Obama comments in these threads, then try that line again that things have changed. You are the one ignoring the truth.

Yeah!!!! I paid it for myself. I would pay it again if needed. what I thought was severe heartburn was really a deadly heart attack.
If I had not gone to the ER for help (1:00 am) I would still be dead. (I died on the exam table, if I had died at home, there would have been no chance to save me)
Pay the money and shut up. You only go 'round once...

Tiger is half asian, everyone, all this racist stuff is pretty ugly. That said, it appears the only thing he's smart about is golf. A guy who likes the ladies as much as Tiger does should never get married. It's fair to bash him for betraying his wife and kids, that's despicable no matter who does it. He's been marketed to America as a boy wonder and a squeaky-clean Daddie's boy, someone who played by the rules, beat the racial odds, and broke every barrier strictly on merit, the All American Story. Now we see he's got another side, and marriage vows are meaningless. Once again, the American Story sounds great, if you leave a lot of true stuff out.
