Woman Plotted to Kill Rival's Unborn Child
(AP)
A New York City woman faces charges that she tricked her husband's pregnant mistress into taking a drug that would cause an abortion.
Police say Kisha Jones used a doctor's prescription pad to order the medication.
They say she then phoned the victim pretending to be from her obstetrician's office and told her to pick up the drug at the pharmacy and take it right away.
The woman fell for the trick, but the baby survived the premature labor.
Authorities say the woman then tried to kill again.
They say she sent a tainted liquid to the hospital saying it was breast milk and tried to get nurses to feed it to the baby.
Hospital staff called police.
Jones was in custody awaiting arraignment. It was unclear when she would get a lawyer.
