Even Models in Dark on "Victoria's Secret"
(CBS)
Fans of the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" may be surprised to learn that some things are even kept secret from the runway models.
Miranda Kerr, who was interviewed with fellow model Doutzen Kroes on "The Early Show" Tuesday morning, said Heidi Klum's runway walk, just weeks after giving birth, came as a complete surprise to everyone involved.
"We heard about the possibility but even we didn't know until she was actually there," she told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, speculating that Klum made her decision at the last possible moment.

The show, which took place at the Lexington Armory in New York on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, is being broadcast tonight on CBS. Klum, the "Project Runway" host, has always had a signature role in the fashion show but announced this year that she would serve as a host but not a runway model, because she had given birth to her fourth child, a daughter named Lou Sulola Samuel, on Oct. 9.
Then to everyone's surprise, she took a walk down the runway in a purple corset with a half gown made of puffs of tulle. Both models agreed that Klum looked "incredible" and Kerr said her walk "was so inspiring to so many women."
The models also said they were surprised by the way each show tops the previous one in terms of outfits, background and entertainment.
"There is so much attention to detail going into everything," said Kerr, "the bras, the embellishments, the wings." And even the models, who they said get just minutes to change costumes, feel the pressure.
"People think it's all perfect," said Kroes, "but there's a lot going on backstage." Some of this, she said, will be seen on the TV show tonight.
Once they are on the runway, she said, the models forget the problems and have as much fun as everyone else. "We see people we know in the crowd...," Kroes said, and Kerr finished her thought: ".. and we wave to them."
The best part of this year's show? Both models were in agreement: entertainment by The Black Eyed Peas.
