Dollar Falls to 14-Year Low Against Yen

(AP)  The dollar has tumbled to 14-year low against the Japanese yen after the U.S. Federal Reserve indicated it wasn't overly concerned about the dollar's recent decline versus major currencies.

The dollar sank as low as 86.51 yen in Tokyo trading Thursday, the lowest since July 1995.

Finance Minister Hirohisa Fujii said Japan will take appropriate steps if exchange rates move abnormally, according to Kyodo News agency.

A strong yen is generally seen as bad for Japan's economy because it erodes overseas income for the country's big auto and electronics exporters.

The euro rose to a 15-month high against the dollar Wednesday. In trading Thursday, it eased to $1.5114 from $1.5132 late Wednesday.

"Nothing ever embittered the German people so much-- it is important to remember this--nothing made them so furious with hate and so ripe for Hitler as the inflation. For the war, murderous as it was, had yet yielded hours of jubilation with ringing of bells and fanfares of victory... while the inflation served only to make it feel soiled, cheated, and humiliated; a whole generation never forgot or forgave the German Republic for those years and preferred to reinstate its butchers." 14 (page 137 GLOBAL CAPITALISM, written by Jeffry A. Frieden.)
With that said, I would like to ask the question, was this economic crisis planed to bring about a governmental change in America such as the end of the Weimar Republic? and the beginning of the Third Reich?
Germany did not intentionally bring about the economic collapse, but it appears to me that the United States, intentionally brought about this one.

With all the imported oil, imports from Japan, Korea and China, it is any wonder that the dollar has any international value at all.
