4 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

(AP)  Bomb attacks and a firefight killed four U.S. service members in the past 24 hours in Afghanistan, NATO forces said Monday.

Three of the Americans died in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, the military force said in a statement. Two of them were killed in a bomb attack and the third in a separate firefight.

The military said the fourth U.S. service member died in the east Monday in a bomb explosion.

The deaths bring the number of Americans killed in Afghanistan in November to 15. October was the deadliest month for U.S. troops in the eight-year war, with 58 dead.

Meanwhile, Afghan officials said three Afghan army soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in southern Helmand province.

The Interior Ministry said the bombing occurred on Sunday in Musa Qala district. It did not give further details and it was not clear if there was any connection between the Afghan deaths and the American deaths.

In Brussels, NATO said Monday it wants allied nations to commit more forces to Afghanistan ahead of a U.S. decision on whether to send more troops.

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen is in the midst of intense consultations on getting more troops, equipment, funding and other resources for the newly established NATO Training Mission, spokesman James Appathurai said.

NATO currently has about 71,000 troops in Afghanistan, nearly half of them American. The U.S. military also has another 36,000 soldiers in Afghanistan who serve outside NATO under independent command.

The Obama administration is considering military proposals to send 10,000 to 40,000 additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan next year.

Religious fundamentalism is the root cause for all evil. In my opinion the birth of hatred is religion. Christ said love your neighbor, he did not say to love the religion.

We should not be in Afghanistan we should focus on Iran that is the key to the whole middle east. Radical islam comes from Iran supported by it's cleric's and religious leaders & extends into other muslim countries abroad like a plague. Iran is everyone's problem and should be dealt with accordingly.

Iran is not the problem no matter what Glenn Beck told you. Pakistan has always been the problem. But since the conservitards failed in Afghanistan to go off and fail in Iraq for no reason, its all a lost cause.

THe taliban's main base for schooling young moslems is in Pakistan . These schools were supposed to be shut down by ah ah whats his name ... OH Musharif our " ally " . He was the president of Pakistan that Bush could not come with the name for even though Musharif's name had been mentioned multiple times during an interview .Had the US put a number of divisions in Eastern Afghanistan along the Pakistan border instead of in Iraq back in 02 things would have been different . This issue with the Taliban should have been dealt with then .

Blame all of this on Obama...Obama cant make a decision on Afghanistan and is leaving our troops vulnerable...Obama is going to ruin healthcare...Obama is making a mockery of the US...Obama is letting Iran develop nuclear weapons...Obama is running up the deficit to an all-time high..Obama is for the killing of innocent fetuses / yet he claims to be a devout Muslim...Obama is giving a forum to Al-Qeada in New York..Obama wants LGTXYZ to be accepted / bestiality may be next...Can we please have a re-vote and vote in Hillary? She would have been so much better for our country. Obama is ruining this country.

You are very correct! Hillary far better choice than Obama. She must cringe at some of the stuff going on.

Of course we need to keep the borders WIDE OPEN to mass immigration,
don't we, so the Taliban and Al-Qaeda can get more of their people here.

Three plurals in one sentence
===================================
Ya can't count either. I count four. Or is it five? I can't distinguish because you haven't mastered the simple task of properly ending a sentence, let alone constructing one, before beginning another.

Via con Dios!!!

Bring our troops home now.

Let the Arabs kill each other, not our young people.

These are tribal, civil wars, and we do not belong there.
