Back to Work for Jackson's Doctor

(AP)  Michael Jackson's doctor was expected to return to work at his Houston medical clinic on Monday for the first time since before the pop star's death.

Dr. Conrad Murray planned to resume office hours at his Armstrong Medical Clinic, attorney Edward Chernoff told The Associated Press.

Murray, a cardiologist licensed in Nevada, Texas and California, was hired to be Jackson's personal physician during a world tour. He was with Jackson when the 50-year-old pop singer died June 25.

The doctor has been the focus of a Los Angeles police homicide investigation since telling investigators he administered propofol, a powerful operating room anesthetic, to Jackson to help the pop star sleep.

Murray, who lives in Las Vegas, has not been charged with a crime.

Chernoff said Murray has not been able to earn a living since Jackson's death.

"His legal fees are enormous and his debts have mounted to the point where it is unclear whether he will be able to keep his house or support his family," Chernoff said. "His intentions are to attend to these patients who have continued to support him, despite the attention and despite the threats."

Authorities searched Murray's Houston clinic and a rented storage unit on July 22, and conducted searches later at Murray's home and office in Las Vegas, at properties in Los Angeles, and at a Las Vegas pharmacy where police say Murray bought five 100-milliliter bottles of propofol.

Chernoff said Murray has been followed and threatened since Jackson died, and felt he had to close his Las Vegas office because patients were being harassed as they came and went. Chernoff said Murray will eventually reopen that office.

Oh I think Dr. Death aka Murray is a lousy rotten humanbeing that deserve what's coming to him. He think he got away with murder. Little do he knows, he better pray the justice system get him first, before some Michael Jackson fan does. There is billions of ppl out there who love Michael Jackson so much, some soon after MJ died, took their own lives to be with him. Imagine those left behind who would take Murray's life instead. I say fried the SOB! he's a selfish, lying, incompetent, careless murderer. If Michael had been white, he would have been in jail fast enough! Michael died on his watch and he gave Michael the drugs that killed him, whether Michael asked him to or not. He's a doctor first and his job is to first do no harm. Murray doesn't deserve to have freedom or practice medicine, after illegally purchasing hospital medications for MJ that killed him. If Michael wasn't rich, would he have brought and gave them to Michael? UGH! You took away the best of human being and for that I hope you pay Murray with your life. One way or another.

I question the ethics of any clinic who would hire a doctor who, while earning $150,000 a MONTH (for Michael) continued to fall behind in child support payments and student loans (along with other things). I think the AMA should make credit checks an issue for licensing - if someone is in serious financial trouble, it is reasonable to assume his ethics may be at risk and an ethics interview is called for. I don't know if this man killed MJ but I think it's safe to say that he felt unusually obligated to the high paying job by his personal financial need.

I guess his patients that already know him may trust him but I don't see him attracting new clients. Too many questions. If he hasn't been charged yet, he has a right to make a living, but he couldn't be my doctor!
