Billboard Links Obama with Jihadists

(AP)  A billboard showing President Barack Obama wearing a turban has sparked a lot of attention at the suburban Denver used car dealership that put it up.

The sign, completed Friday by artist David Lee, shows a grinning, cartoonish Obama and bears the words "PRESIDENT or JIHAD?"

Underneath the president's image is a big yellow square with the phrase, "BIRTH CERTIFICATE, PROVE IT!"

The words "WAKE UP AMERICA! REMEMBER FT. HOOD" appear at the bottom of the billboard at Wolf Interstate Leasing and Sales, about seven miles (11 kilometers) west of Denver. The sign is visible from Interstate 70.

An Army psychiatrist, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. citizen born to Palestinian parents, has been charged in the Nov. 5 mass shooting at the Army post in Fort Hood, Texas, that left 13 dead and more than 30 wounded.

Lee said there were plenty of honks from car horns as he painted the billboard.

"One lady came by and gave me the 'shame, shame' look," said Lee, of Arvada, another suburb of Denver.

Dealership owner Phil Wolf was unavailable for comment Friday, but General Manager Wayne Means said the business has seen strong opinions about its sign.

"We've had people come by and say, 'Keep it up.' We've had people come by and say, 'Take it down,"' Means said. "We can have differences of opinion. This is America."

The left-leaning advocacy group MoveOn.org called the billboard "racist" and was asking customers to boycott the dealership.

Lee said the billboard has previously held other slogans questioning the president's citizenship, along with routine ads for cars.

The fringe so-called birther movement claims that Mr. Obama was born outside the United States and is ineligible to be president. The Constitution states that a person must be a "natural-born citizen" to be eligible for the presidency. Birthers contend that Obama's birth certificate is a fake, and many say he was actually born in Kenya, his father's homeland.

Mr. Obama's Hawaii birth certificate along with birth notices from the two Honolulu newspapers were brought forward even before he took office. State officials in Hawaii have repeatedly confirmed that Mr. Obama was born in Honolulu.

A year later it still amazes me.. There are some people that have absolute blind faith in people that work for a system designed to take money from their pockets while systematically stripping them of liberties. Yet people that stand up for our constitution and founding christian principles are labled "radicals", "retarded" and "racist" for having the audacity to hold those we elect to the same laws we are held to.

Then to make a bad situation worse, the media prints inaccurate statements such as the one above in the last paragraph,(Obama never has provided his birth cerificate) and the uninformed masses take on a lemming mentality, and imeadiately jump to defend, instead of their responsibility as an American and hold our government accountable.

It was once said, "history doesn't repeat itself, only the foolish that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Research the rise of the Nazi party. If a person cannot see the simularities, there is no "hope".

I guess this just shows that ignorancy and stupidity are still alive and well in this country.

It is a shame that folks cannot get over their biases about certain human differences to allow equality.

The man putting up these billboards is a great American patriot. You have to question where this country is going. We are a laughingstalk to North Korea and Iran. We do nothing to support Israel (we can't dare offend our muslim brothers). We bow to other heads of State in submission. Obama was born in Kenya and came to Hawaii when he was 2. That really is asides the point cause I would like to see Arnold Schwarzenegger run for President too but he can't cause of being born in Austria. Our troops need reinforcement now or to come home now. IF OBAMA CAN'T DECIDE...BRING THEM HOME! re-organize, then go in BIG. Or don't go at all. This is ridiculous just leaving them there in battle with no firm resolve.

i believe that john mccain was born in a boat off the coast of guam in international waters and that sarah palin was born on a trip to canada, therefore NEITHER ONE OF THEM WERE/ARE eligible to serve as president because THEY WERE NOT BORN IN AMERICA. I WANT PROOF that they were born on u.s. soil and don't try to hand me some copy of a birth certificate or newspaper announcements because THAT'S NOT PROOF and THEY ARE NOT NATIVE-BORN US CITIZENS! There are 2 types of birth certificates. A short list and a long list. The short list is the one we get for ID perposes and personal use. The long list is the one we never get. It is Government property and is kept on file at the hospital of birth. Obama and the government refuse to give the long list which would prove beyond reason of doubt that he was born here. You would have times and dates and staff signatures on and on. He only has produced a peronal ID birth certificate and with his money and pull that would be very easy to produce. The other one is a lot more involved and could be investigated.
