Baltimore Attorney Plans To Write Book On Executed DC Sniper; Says Pair Had Become Close
J. Wyndal Gordon volunteered as standby counsel during the 2006 trial in Virginia in which Muhammad represented himself. Gordon tells The Baltimore Sun Sunday that they forged a strong bond. He says Muhammad suggested the book.
Muhammad was put to death Tuesday for killing Dean Harold Meyers during an October 2002 shooting spree that left 10 dead and terrorized Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Gordon says the book will present Muhammad's story "without the filters and rules of evidence that prevented him from getting things in court."
Attorney Jonathan Sheldon, who most recently represented Muhammad, calls the book inappropriate.
