(CBS)  A week ago "The Early Show" launched the Macy's "Believe" Campaign.

For every letter sent to Santa at a "Believe" station at any Macy's store, Macy's will donate one dollar to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million. The special Santa mailboxes are up and running.

So how many letters have already been received?

Martine Reardon, the executive vice president of Macy's, said they have 43,915 letters so far.

"We are thrilled with the start," she said.

You can also enter an essay or video on Macys.com's Make-a-Wish site on the topic of why you believe. Reardon said the entries will be voted upon and two will be selected for a special VIP trip to next year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

Reardon said, "The ultimate goal is to find a million reasons to believe, and raise a million dollars for this extremely worthy cause."
