Police Officer Seriously Injured When 2 School Buses, Patrol Car Collide In NY's Hudson Valley

(AP)  NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say an officer was seriously injured when two school buses carrying students and a police patrol car all collided in New York's Hudson Valley.

Town of Newburgh police say Officer Thomas Canavan was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie after the Thursday afternoon crash. They had no further details.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports that four students with minor injuries were taken to a hospital in Newburgh. The newspaper says the buses were coming from Newburgh Free Academy.

The school district had no information immediately available on the crash.
