Radical Ties not Ruled out at Ft. Hood

(AP)  A senior U.S. official in Washington isn't ruling out the possibility that the alleged Fort Hood shooter had ties to radical groups, but isn't saying whether there's evidence to back it up.

Officials now say a 13th person has died in yesterday's rampage in Texas and 30 were wounded. Authorities at first thought one of the dead was the shooter, accounting for a delay in identifying him.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, Fort Hood's base commander, told CBS's "The Early Show" that the alleged shooter is rumored to have said "Allahu Akbar," (God is great) during the shooting, but was unable to confirm that information.

As military officials try to piece together what may have pushed Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan to turn on his comrades, the wounded suspect is on a ventilator, unconscious and under guard in a hospital.

Law enforcement officials say Hasan came to their attention at least six months ago, because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats. It's not yet certain he authored the posts.

Hey, guys, remember the Crusades way back in the Middle Ages? The Christians were going after the Muslims that time. Guess we were a mental health issue that needed to be addressed, huh? Maybe they're just getting around to it.

Yes, God bless the victims who were killed in God's name. Maybe more God isn't the answer.

Yes, Islam is a mental health issue that needs to be addressed.
It is this so called religion that has caused so much sadness and distrust in this world.

What is wrong with our country that we can't see that Radicals come in all races, religion, or nationality. We have our fundamentalist, and the tea bagging gun slinger KKK. Crime is running rampant across our country and not by muslims but our own. We should not be in the middle east. Thousands would still be alive, and we would have money for health care, and to help the poor. It is not a blame against Bush, but a fact he is responsible.

For all of the victims and their families - there is a book written by a school shooting survivor named Missy Jenkins, who was paralyzed from the chest down, called "I Choose to be Happy" at missyjenkins.com. The book will not end your pain, but it will help ease it. God bless you all.
