Brown's attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna occurred in February. He was sentenced in August to five years' probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault.
Rihanna's ABC interview coincides with the debut of her new single, "Russian Roulette," from her upcoming album, "Rated R." It's her first CD since 2007's multiplatinum "Good Girl Gone Bad."

- As a woman who works with victims of domestic violence, both women AND men, I am appaulled. In court documents it was revealed that Rhianna assulted Chris in Europe prior to this incident. Another report disclosed the fact that she had assulted her own brother by smashing a bottle of champagne over his head. THESE ARE FACTS. In both of those incidents, she was not assulted. She is not a victim of domestic violence. This is a case of TWO immature young people getting out of control resulting in an assult in which they were BOTH throwing punches -FACT.
They BOTH should have kept their hands to themselves. We need to stop telling our daughters that it is okay to hit men in the same breath as we tell our son's to not hit women. ALL PARTIES NEED TO KEEP THEIR HANDS TO THEMSELVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN. I'm disgusted that she is using such a serious issue to sell records. Also, demonizing and persecuting Mr. Brown for the rest of his life will not do anyone any favors. We cannot FOREVER punish the men in these situations; to fix the problem and stop the cycle of violence, they too need intensive counseling and therapy; BOTH of which Mr. Brown has agreed to and has been attending.
My heart goes out to women in domestic violenc situations; they are who I've dedicated my career to serving. Ms. Rhianna, after knowing the FACTS IN BLACK AND WHITE, is not one of them. - Reply to this comment
- I am appalled on hearing that Rhianna is going to discuss her run in with Chris Brown. This girl has no shame, no class and no brains to be trying to make a bad situation worse because she started the fight that got out of hand and it was unfortunate that Chris got the messy end of the stick.
I am very angry to see that the sentencing for Chris was so harsh since she could have admitted that she in part should be blamed. I can assure you that I will not miss this interview with this no brainer and Diane Sawyer. - Reply to this comment
