Palestinians: Clinton Hinders Peace Talks

(AP)  The Palestinians are accusing U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton of undermining progress toward Mideast peace talks.

Clinton met with both Palestinian leaders and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday.

At a joint news conference with the Netanyahu last night, she praised the Israeli leader's offer to curb some settlement construction in the West Bank.

The Palestinians insist construction must stop there and in east Jerusalem - lands they want for a future state - before they'll return to the bargaining table.

Netanyahu has insisted Israel would not limit building in east Jerusalem.

After yesterday's meetings, Clinton called for an unconditional resumption of peace talks.

A Palestinian government spokesman says that amounts to condoning the expansion of settlements.

The Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat says: "If America cannot get Israel to implement a settlement freeze, what chance do Palestinians have of reaching agreement with Israel on permanent status issues?"

Netanyahu aid to Netanyahu:

"Hey boss, what do the Americans think about going past "lip-service" this time?"

Netanyahu to aid:

"I don't honestly know right now...I haven't made their minds up for them yet on that point."

The Israelis, in effect, tell the U.S. "Deal us all the aces first, then you can deal to the Palestinians".......

Who would expect any Arab support whtsoever for a position so obviously weighted in favor of Israel?

Only a fool.

P.S.

And the U.S. obediently pulls the aces and passes them to Israel in world view.

How humiliating.......

Israel tells U.S. "OK, we'll play but only if you stack the deck in our favor".

U.S. says "OK, whatever you say".

Palestinians say "?!?!?!"

compared to your bloviating anything else is heaven.

From the Neocon Field Manual-

"bloviate" - a term to be used whenever a logical argument is presented for which you have no reasonable rebuttal".

Well juwboy, we've addressed your ignorance about the Roadmap to Peace and the Israeli position regarding settlements as well, do you require any further enlightenment or are you good for the moment?

10 minutes sans response would indicate that he's had all the enlightenment he can stand for one session....

You obviously can't find your own address so what have you proven Achmed ?
---
Who's Achmed? Are you one the wrong board, maybe?

Or are you one of those simpletons who, for lack of valid argument, resort to demonizing those who differ in opinion from you?

10 to 1 it's the latter.

"The Palestinians have no say in the matter.

What a shock this revelation of mindset is, eh?

It is a privilege to behold such wisdom, indeed.

By your use of the term "bloviating", one would never guess where you find your "mentors".....

The 2003 Roadmap has never been anything more than a Saudi Arabian proposal
--
You are woefully ignorant juwboy.

The implementation of this mere "proposal" as you call it, began on March 19, 2003 and ended on June 5, 2003.

Inform yourself somewhat and your appearances here might not be so embarrasing for you.

And FYI juwboy, as the conept obviously escapes you, "proposals" do not reach the stage of implemantation without first becoming "agreements".

The blatant favortism that US policy demonstrates in regards to Israel is as big of an impediment to the process as the actions of the Palestinians and the Israelis themselves.

This favortism encourages Israel to continue to push the envelope from their side, ignoring previous agreements and the like, while reducing the Palestinian authorities ability to sell peace to the Palestinians in general and augmenting support for more radical positions out of sheer frustration.

Individual Palestinians rightly ask "Why support a process so heavily weighted in Israel's favor?"

I assume, jewboy, that you think that your adolescent penchant for insult, as opposed to mature, rational, on-pointe responses, looks like anything but considering that you continue to demonstrate your inability to debate an issue on an adult level.

You can only argue.

Must be tough.....

Arguing rationally with ignorant, uneducated people is intrinsically impossible.

Arguing is what children do.

Adults possess the ability to debate.

Doesn't look good on the CV of a SOS, does it?

It's bad enough to not promote the objective, but to actively hinder it?

Sheesh.

Netanyahu has repeated over and over again, including this weekend, that the settlements will be on the agenda at the next Middle East peace conference.

---

You can't even read.

From the above article which you obviously didn't even bother to read before shooting off your yap:

"Netanyahu has insisted Israel would not limit building in east Jerusalem."

Do you understand the definition of the word "INSIST", jewboy?

Apparently, you haven't a clue.

What a surprise that is......
