The High Price of Fame

(CBS)  This story originally aired Oct. 28, 2009.

In "The Early Show" "Name in Lights" series, news anchor Russ Mitchell was first to try something new.

He attempted stand-up comedy. But how did the next anchor fare?

"Early Show" weather anchor and features reporter Dave Price left his comfort zone by the weather wall to try acting on for size.

The weatherman-turned-actor showed up on the set of the hit CBS show "CSI: Miami."

He learned how to take punches, from the stunt crew on the show, as well as how to take a bullet.

Did Price live to act another day on the show?

Unfortunately not. Price was dressed up by the show's make-up department for his big scene -- on the autopsy table.

Watch what happened behind-the-scenes when Price got his "Name in Lights," by clicking on the video below. Look carefully at the fight scene. Stunt men can often look very much like the real actors for the "most dangerous" scenes:

The performance shown only reinforces the breadth and depth of Dave's
theatrical Abilities. Surely this can serve as the basis for an
EMMY nomination. Let's have more of Dave on Other CBSTV shows.
