(CBS)  Miami contains the largest percentage of foreign-born Americans in the country and McAllen, Texas is the most multilingual, according to the latest census data.

The Census Bureau Tuesday released its American Community Survey results, which charts a range of social, economic and housing data in U.S. metropolitan areas. The running survey, which is different from the traditional once-a-decade census, tracks three years worth of data. The latest figures cover 2006 to 2008.

Among the findings:

• The Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area ranks first in foreign-born citizens with 36.9 percent. Altoona, Pa., ranks last with just 0.9 percent.

Only two other areas top 30 percent - San Jose, Calif., and Los Angeles.

• McAllen, Texas has the highest percentage of people age 5 and older who speak a language other than English at home - 84.2. Charleston, West Virginia has the lowest - 1.8 percent.

El Paso, Texas is the only other metro area with more than three-quarters of its population speaking another language.

• San Jose, Calif., boasts the highest median home values - $739,700 - while Odessa, Texas ranks last with $68,200. California dominates the country in this category.

While San Jose is the only metro area to top the $700,000 median value, the six others that exceed $600,000 - Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Salinas, Napa, Santa Barbara and Oxnard - are all in the Sunshine State.

• Provo-Orem, Utah and Laredo, Texas share the top spot for largest average household with 3.5 people. Ocean City, N.J., ranks last with 2.0 people per household.

• New Yorkers have the longest commute to work, checking in at 34.5 minutes, followed closely by Washington, D.C., at 33.2 minutes.

Residents in Grand Forks, N.D., have the shortest commute and live in the only metro area with an average commute time under 15 minutes.

A very quick way to greatly reduce the illegal alien population of this country would to activate a Military Draft making every able bodied person in this country between the ages of 18-45 elliglible for Military service. I was on a job site awhile back and there were illegals working, we got into a conversation about the Wars . I asked them what they would do if they had to go in the Army, every single one said they would quickly go home.... they don't want to fight in America's wars.

So?
I have heard Miami called North Cuba for years.
I went there not too long ago and left when people in Miami started making fun of me because I did not speak Spanish in America.
Of course I think they are stupid because I speak Italian and German and they don't.
Ovviamente penso che siano stupidi, perché io parlo italiano e tedesco e non.
Natürlich habe ich denke, sie sind dumm, weil ich Italienisch und Deutsch sprechen und sie tun es nicht.

isn't florida mostly cuban? illegal cubans who are auto accepted because they are special in escaping the island of cuba. there are lots of illegals and legals, from all over the world, who bring over their families along with their culture, language, customs and their loyalty remains to their homeland NOT the usa. but as soon as they get into trouble here, they stand behind the constitution of the u.s. rather than that of their homeland where their allegiance lies completely. the usa is losing its identity, its fiber, its bond that used to hold all americans together. we are a nation of chinatowns, japantowns, vietnamese towns, russian, ukrainian, and et al. they celebrate their holidays, their customs and ignore the usa. don't fret, we are being taken over by the chinese.
