Levi: I'm Hiding "Huge" Things About Palin

But, in Exclusive Interview, Father of Sarah Palin's Grandson Tells Maggie Rodriguez He'd Rather Not Reveal Them

(CBS)  Levi Johnston says he's keeping some "huge" things about Sarah Palin from the public.

In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview with "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, which aired Wednesday, the father of Palin's grandson says, "There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven't said them because I'm not gonna hurt her that way.

" ... I have things that can, you know -- that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I'm not gonna go that far. You know, I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could, very easily. But there's -- I'm not gonna do it. I'm not going that far."

Johnston says he's referring to things Palin did while she was governor of Alaska. Asked whether those actions were illegal or immoral, he refused to elaborate.

Johnston also told Rodriguez he's been hearing a lot about his saying in a recent first-person tell-all in Vanity Fair magazine that Palin routinely referred to her baby, Trig, who suffers from Down syndrome, as "retarded."

"I was just in shock for the first time I heard it," Johnston recalled for Rodriguez. "And then she'd say it regularly. And I think she was joking, but it doesn't make it right."

Still, Johnston remarked to Rodriguez, "Those are just little ... things I put in Vanity Fair. You know, all the big things I got, I'm keeping -- you know, I'm keeping them in, and -- you know, it's just something that probably will never come out."

He added that he's "sure Sarah's got something ... coming for me," perhaps in her soon-to-be-released memoir, but, "I'm not worried about her saying anything about me. I've really never done anything bad. I don't have anything to hide. So she can go on and say what she wants."

Johnston stood by his contention in Vanity Fair that Sarah and Todd Palin would not only regularly talk about divorce -- they'd do it in front of their children, adding to Rodriguez, "I'm sure it really hurt their kids, you know. I didn't like it. I wasn't even their kid."

Spokespeople for the Palins deny the divorce assertion.

Johnston told Rodriguez Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, the mother of his son, Tripp, did most of the mothering of Trig, because Sarah and Todd weren't around much.

Now an aspiring actor and model, Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure -- in an upcoming issue of Playgirl magazine.

He told Rodriguez the Playgirl spread will be done "tastefully," saying, "I'm not gonna just go out there and get naked." He expands on that in Part Two of the interview, which airs Thursday.

The interview with Rodriguez is the latest in a he-said-she-said battle with the Palin family.

Johnston burst onto the public stage at the Republican National Convention in August, the handsome boyfriend of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter. After the Republicans lost the election, Johnston and Bristol broke up. She had his baby in December. But he says the Palins shut him out of their lives.

And that's when the battle began, each side accusing the other of lying.

how dare Sarah Palin's [former] favorite political prop--outside of her 5 children, of course--turn on her like that?!

oh, poor Sarah. I guess she's not the only one who goes rogue.

Really, you have secrets about Sarah? I doubt it. Both of you are such losers. Go home and take care of your son.

CBS needs to stop giving this kid air-time! All he is doing is stiring the pot and trying to keep his face on TV and in the news. Are they lies or the truth? Who knows!! But just leave the Palin's alone. The Levi needs to grow up and stop being so bitter.

you really shouldn't bad mouth this guy. he's taking almost every penny he's making from his 15 mins and investing in a fund to support his child and his child's mother. You make it sound like it's all about him when actually he's doing this with them in mind.

well, maybe not

I cannot believe The Early Show has dedicated not one but two segments to Mr. Levi Johnston this week. This ?exclusive interview? conducted by seasoned and well respected journalist, Maggie Rodriquez, is not journalism but gossip and innuendo wrapped in the falsehood of truth. Journalism's first obligation is to the truth. There is no evidence of the truth being sought in this ?interview?. You, CBS and Ms. Maggie Rodriquez, have not only embarrassed yourselves but you have brought your credibility into question.

As for Mr. Johnston, yes he is immature and misguided. It is obvious he does not have a support system or positive influences in his life. Otherwise, he would be advised to keep his son as his first priority. Instead he is seeking fame and glory under the guise of telling the truth. When his son is old enough to look back and understand what has been documented, what will he think of his father?

Funny . . . how the reichwingers posting here were singing CBSNews's praises about a week or so ago when CBS wagged its finger at the WH for calling Fauxnewz out as the dbag propaganda outlet for the GOP that it really is . . .

And now they're whining about how awful! CBS is b/c Levi Johnston is calling Sister Sarah out for the phoney she is -- love it!!!!!

If Sarah Palin wants to be prez, we should know whatever it is she's trying to hide. Isn't that what Fauxnewz is always yelling about when it goes after the Prez, hmmmmm???? -- that he's got a "secret" agenda or whateverrrrr???

If Sarah was the prez, the girl who was gangraped last week would have been required to pay for her own rape kit -- that's what Sister Sarah believes in . . . and what she did when she was mayor of Wasila.

I stopped watching Good Morning America because they shoved Obama down our throats. I had nothing against him, just the way Diane and Robin gushed whenever they spoke about him. I found The Early Show and was so happy to finally get the news. Levi is not news. He wants to prolong his 15 minutes until his career gets going. He must be afraid he will be forgotten. Someone should tell him to get over it.

Now my news source will be KWY radio. They pull no punches, report real news and leave the personalities for the likes of GMA and the Early Show.

I want news stories? Real stories.

Maggie--just have to give you kudos(not that you will ever read this) about your amazing journalistic prowess displayed during the Levi J. interview this a.m.
By treating the 'not-for-fame- playgirl-photo-making son of a jailed drug dealer with such respect, you have one again show your true self. Oh, and I especially like the way you treated his excitement about 'jailed cougar' adulation he receives when he visits mom---nice! I am so much more willing to believe his story after today---in fact, I put him right up there with CBS news in the believable category. whew!

Now that this young man has fathered a child, his main concern should be in being a good role model for his son. It is time that he grows up and becomes the man that his child can admire, look up to for guidance, and learn from in a positive manner. He voluntarily gave up his youth early when he decided to participate in adult activity which requires adult responsibility. As I see it, trashing his child's mother's family whether true or untrue is not in the best interest of this child. Levi's main concern appears to be in attracting attention and dollars to himself. Why is CBS encouraging this? Someone should tell Levi to GROW UP and prepare himself to be a REAL father that his child can be proud of. My guess that this maturity would even improve his relationship with the Palin family which, like it or not, he will be permanently involved with if he wants a relationship with his son.

CBS & Maggie R sicken me...I can't believe anyone would credit anything Levi J says and CBS should now call themselves The Enquiror Jr.
