"The Early Show" found its weather anchor and features reporter in Minneapolis Thursday.
Special Section: Check out Dave's Journey
But why the move North from Omaha -- instead of East?
Dave explained airfares were expensive out of Des Moines and the buses didn't match up with the trains in Chicago. He said he got an offer for a ride at the end of the day, and he couldn't refuse it.
Catch Up with Dave on Twitter
As for sleeping Wednesday night, Dave did find a "bed," or rather, a couch, in the conference room at the CBS affiliate WCCO in Minneapolis.
Dave said he's getting offers on Twitter for help from viewers in several states, including Pennsylvania and Maryland. But can he make it there to receive their help?
"I don't know what I'm going to do yet," Dave said.
Read the "No Way Home Producer Notebook" blog.
With the clock ticking, Dave has just one day left to make it home. Hundreds of miles stand between Dave and his goal. Can he do it?

- Dave;
I begin every week day with you. You have to be the funniest weatherman in the world. You are a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dreary day. Get it,sunshine, dreary, I hope you enjoy my little attempt at humor. God bless you and all you stand for. - Reply to this comment
- Dave, too bad you are so short of time and didn't let me know yesterday you were headed this way, i would have let you take my jeep wrangler across the country stocked up with "Zoes Gone Bananas" banana bread ( the best in the metro, quite posiibly the state or nation) it would have given you the energy needed to make the trek, i even have pink floral seat covers....you would have looked fab! then i could have flown to NY soon and driven the car back...better than that i would have driven you and talked your ear off...haha who needs sleep...let me know maybe you need some of my bread to take with you... i am in minnetonka 30 minutes away..

I do daycare and would like to invite him to our house tonight in Glencoe Mn for a warm bed and a homemade meal, a shower and a little tv time! oh ya a football game for 12 year old! We would be glad to pick him up whereever in minneapolis because my husband works at the doughboy (general Mill). Tomorrow is the unknown but I would be glad to pay his ticket back home and a ride to the airport!!

- Please send this to Dave as I can't remember the email address in order to reach him.....if he can get to Columbus, OH, he may be able to catch the bus to NYC. It's only a 14 hour ride from Columbus to Schenectady, NY (near Albany, NY) so the ride to NYC may be about the same. I don't know how much $$ he has on him but getting the bus in Columbus may be an option.
