Semper Fi-dos Undergo Tests at S.C. Bases

(AP)  Representatives from the ASPCA are in South Carolina assessing whether dogs at Marine bases may remain among the few and the proud.

Animal experts from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are testing more than 100 pit bulls, Rottweilers and canine-wolf mixes owned by Marines serving at Parris Island, the Marine Corps Air Station and the Beaufort Naval Hospital.

The dogs are being assessed for various traits, including sensitivity and aggressiveness.

Emily Weiss of the ASPCA says that she expects only about 5 percent of the dogs will not pass the behavior assessments being given over two days.

Dogs that don't pass may no longer stay at the bases. Dogs that do pass get waivers to stay until 2012.

This makes me ashamed to have served in the Marine Corps. By breaking up families they are breaking their motto of Semper Fi. (Always Faithful) Our Marines go to war and come home to find prejudice has taken a family member out of their home doesn't show much faithfulness in my book.

Turbo the Earth Liberation Front which has financial ties to PETA is on the FBI domestic terrorist watch list, I've never heard that ASPCA was. The animal rights groups are the ones to watch not the animal welfare ones. Research before spouting gibberish so you don't show yourself to be a fool.

You might want to actually read the story before you rant about it.

Kick the maggot SPCA out of there. They are on the domestic terrorists list.

They are up to no good. How dare they go in our
bases and try to get the military dogs!!!!

They are a private outfit with no business been on a USMC base.
