Jon and Kate have an adorable brood and TV stardom, but the couple has now filed for divorce

(CBS)  Kate Gosselin claims estranged husband Jon gutted a joint account of theirs, leaving only $1,000 of the $231,000 that was in it.

Jon says not so, and produced bank records for "The Insider" he contends prove his point.

On "The Early Show" Tuesday, "Insider" correspondent Chris Matthews gave details of the grilling Gosselin got from an "Insider" panel.

Kate claims the $1,000 is all that remained in the account for her to pay the bills and feed the couple's eight kids with.

The two stars of the TLC reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" are involved in divorce proceedings.

"I'm trying to prove that I'm speaking the truth," Jon told the panel. "I'm a new man. I want to own up to everything I did and I'm proving it to you now that I only took 22,000 dollars," which he says was the proceeds of a paycheck of his from the show.

But the panelists didn't seem entirely convinced the papers Jon produced were adequate.

Kate is now said to have fired back by filing legal papers in Pennsylvania to force Jon to return the money she claims he took without her knowledge.

I have ALWAYS been on Jon's side. Kate is such a ****** that I don't know what took him so long. She has teared up and acted so saintly to gain the approval of the public. Hey Kate, go look at the episodes you all have done and then see how innocent you look. Jon you won't have to worry about what your kids think of you because when they watch the episodes they will see how terrible their mother acted. Jon, you do need to grow up but we all make mistakes. Get up, brush yourself off and walk forward. Don't look back. Your kids will respect that you said your sorry to their mom...maybe she will have enough class to say it back and mean it. Get off TV and have a life!!!!

Radaronline.com has the court papers including an email from the bank citing the withdrawls and they do total $230,000 since Aug 10th.

I wish they both would grow up. I hope that John did not take the money. I think it was wise that he left her. It was not healthy for his boys or girls to see him treated the way she treated him. It amazes me that she felt comfortable to treat in such a demeaning manner on t.v. for all those years.

In a time when I and most Americans are struggling to make ends meet, why is it news that these two idiots are fighting over $200K? I would give my right arm most months to have that kind of money just once to pay bills and have a nice nest egg in the bank. These morons have made so much money off the people who made them "reality stars." I'm happy to say I was not a watcher of that ridiculous show but with all these stories and the comments, it's obvious they don't need any more help financially and only need some hard lessons on how to return to the real world. Kate has stated she saw to it that her kids are taken care of. Great! Hip, hip hooray! She stated her kids' trusts are "SECURE" and "SUBSTANTIAL." It's so wonderful that her kids future and college funds are taken care of. I on the the other hand push my children everyday to do well in school because we have nothing in terms of college savings and my hope is that they will be able to attend college with some help from scholarships. If scholarships are not in our future, then my children will become indebted to whatever institution they will be forced to borrow from for school loans. So crying about $200K of your "liquid assets" brings out no sense of compassion from me. Time to let the Gosslins stand on their own and kick themselves for getting themselves into this mess.

Don't just blame Kate. Jon is at fault also. The group of people with the largest blame are the networks. When will they stop putting a bunch of no-talent, uninteresting people in pseudo-reality shows? Some of these shows .. American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, So you think you can Dance, etc. require talent or skill; but these other shows only require the skill to get pregnant, act stupid, or let people participate in a semi-celebrities barely interesting life. Those shows and these people need to return to real life and get real jobs.

They are both extravagant fools, spending their children's money. I am sick to death of both of them. They certainly do think they are special. Quit spending, sell the big mansion, sell the apartment in NY, sell the fleet of cars and sell the freebies. Motor Cycle goes first. Go back to live in your old house (that still has not sold)and get off of TV. Jon and Kate, nobody wants to see you, no matter who you go on a show with. Take what money you grubbed in stupid fees and "love Offerings" and GO AWAY!!!

These two need to be private about this. I am sick of the constant bickering. These people are both losers. Good riddance to Jon and Kate. Climb back under your rock.
