Jon and Kate have an adorable brood and TV stardom, but the couple has now filed for divorce

(CBS)  Reality television star Jon Gosselin responded to reports he withdrew a large amount of money from the divorcing couple's bank account.

A statement from Jon's lawyer says, "He only withdrew approximately $175,000, which is less than 10 percent of the gross revenues paid the Gosselins." The Insider.com has more details on Jon's lawyer's response.

Kate Gosselin said in a broadcast interview Monday that Jon took $230,000 from the joint bank account she used to pay bills. Kate contended that Jon left only $1,000 in the account.

You can bet your bibby that Kate the Dragon Lady stashed a nice amount for a rainy day .
To hell with her husband. He was only good when he brought home a paycheck and now there is no need for him anymore.

This is pathetic. As much as I think John is immature and clearly wanted out... Kate's so addicted to the fame and money, she'll stop at nothing.

Making one's divorce a public affair is inexcusable; I didn't realize these 2 were such trash.

I am so sick of this couple and I don't feel sorry for either one of them! I refuse to watch their show or any show that they are appearing on. They're both a couple of phoneys in it for the money and no other reason. I can't believe TLC thinks people would fall for a show about a single mother with 8 kids . . . a single mother who banks a million, lives in a million dollar home and gets lots and lots of freebies! That life is so far removed from the lives of the single mothers I know, its laughable!!!

Have you all noticed that Jon or Kate can not go ONE WEEK without being in the press. Is it a Hall of Fame or a Hall of Shame?

I don't know what is worse, the fact that BOTH of them should have their kids taken away for exploiting them or the fact the the public have such pathetic lives that they have to watch a show about someone elses life.

I have never watched a "real life" TV show and never will. I can't remember which one was the first RL show, the real life, big brother? Whichever one it was opened a Pandoras Box of garbage. We are so pathetic that we have to watch other peoples train wrecks to make ourselves feel better? Think about all the RL TV shows out there. They are either about a group of people conniving against each other or some kind of freak show about families with obscene numbers of kids. I think there is one show out there about a family with 20 kids or so. What is the allure of watching these shows. There is a show about a family of dwarfs. I have nothing against dwarfs but again, what is the allure of this show?

I don't really say that anything I watch on TV is any better but I don't have to be a voyeur of other people lives to entertain myself. The bottom line is both Jon and Kate should go away and take the rest of reality TV with them.

Your fame is not your children and raising them anymore. It is now the ugliness of your divorce and how the parents are treating each other. What a family legacy to leave your beautiful children.
Shame on you Kate! You spend more time with the press than Jon. "For the sake of your children" listen to Jon and drop out of the public eye.

No one should dare shame Kate or Jon--they are merely mirroring what many other Americans are doing to each other--as for the kids--they probably have no clue of the drama due to their age--but in real life? I would bet that given now over 69% of all US marriages end in divorce and many of them are less than friendly--all of you people complaining about Kate or what is best for the children are just lying haters hiding behind good ol' 'merkun self righteousness as usual.

He cheats and steals money from the bank account, he bashes her--she bashes him, they use the kids and their lives to make money and keep the drama going to ensure viewership and this is different from everyone else in HOllywood how? Sort of brings to mind the relationships of Di and Charles and the McCartneys or Woody Allen and his muse....nothing new here, not even the HYPOCRISY of the fans...

I am simply stating that this family should solve their problems in private not on national T.V. How would your private live stand up to the court of public opinion?

I know that Jon and Kate's show has lined many people's pockets with money. But who is still watching this show anyway? I have been boycotting it for over five months now.
It makes me want to see the children go to their grandparents until the parents are able to work out the current troubles.
GET OFF THE AIR AND WORK OUT YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES IN PRIVATE.

Never watched the show.

These reality shows are on the air because there is a lack of intelligent writers in H-wood.

it is easier to pur out ignorant reality shows than try to hire a writer able to think and imagine.

There is actually going to be a spin-off show. The title is "Jon and Kate Plus Hate."

They both need to disappear.
Other people go through divorces and they don't run to every network to complain.
Thats what you folks have a lawyer for, for heavens sake.
Some people posting here, should remember it's a joint acct and not just Kates.

Everything is not what it first appears to be.... Do not be so quick to judge Jon or Kate. Instead of talking to each other, they seem determined to talk to the WORLD.
Kate, Do not play on our sympathy by telling us about the children's reaction to getting off TLC. No child knows what is best for a family, only the parents do.
Kate, do not base all your decisions on $$$, turn to your parents, family and church for support. Have faith that God will provide for ALL YOUR NEEDS... not all your wants.
Jon and Kate, Have faith that God can help you through this rough time and give your family a chance to heal OFF THE AIR. Seek Christian counseling for your children and yourself.

Your words sound so nice, until we get the distinct impression that in your book, Kate should forgive, take Jon back, not worry about his sexual exploits or depleting the account for the sake of ...Paul's version of what a wife in the bible should be? None of us know what is best for this couple, but from the sidelines, a low life, two timing, cheating hubby who humiliates and castigates his wife to the world then tries to hamstring her livlihood by pretending he cares for the kids (where was the "caring" when he was on the payroll for the show) is hypocritical. Kate--perhaps it is good riddance to bad rubbish to get rid of Jon--there seems to be a lot that is inherently weak, sniveling and nasty about that excuse for a man.

Great going Bozo - it shows he really cares about his kids! what a jerk!

I hope the family law judge not only makes him put the money back immediately, but gives him a 30-day jail time for not following the arbitrater's instructions on that joint account. NOW will all of you folks get it through your brains that Jon is all about the MONEY and NOT about the kids?????? He never even saved a cent for those kids - KATE SAVED MONEY FOR THEIR TRUST ACCOUNTS! This guy is a weasling, hateful, vengeful, money-grubbing s-o-b, and apparently so is his lawyer, if that lawyer advised him to do this. Why doesn't he just shut up and do the filming and get his paycheck? He won't get any more jobs, I'll bet, cause no one is going to want him for jobs with this apparently erratic and crazy behavior. SO I guess Jon's next move is to raid the kids' trust accounts for what Jon thinks is owed him? I hope he doesn't have access to that also.

And you know all of this how?

I believe Jon didn't touch the $$. Kate went on a shoe buying spree for herself, not the kids.
by toldyouso21 October 6, 2009 7:12 PM EDT
Jon already admitted to taking out 175K.that is a lot of money and if the rest is really tied up in trust, it was an underhanded. low down and dirty thing to do. I've never watched or followed these two but from his sex spree to the other shenanigans, it appears this couple have irreconcilable differences and that at least one of them is extremely emotionally immature, ****** and vindictive and I am not talking about the woman.
