Jon Gosselin Trying to Kill "Kate Plus 8"?
He's Seeking to Keep TV Crews from Videotaping His Kids, According to "The Insider"

It appears the newly-renamed "Kate Plus 8," featuring Kate Gosselin and the eight Gosselin kids, with minimal participation from Jon Gosselin, may be separated from the airwaves.
TLC announced the name change for "Jon & Kate Plus 8" early this week.
On "The Early Show" Thursday, Lara Spencer, host of "The Insider," said Jon is apparently attempting to, in effect, shut-down production on the show by denying permission to videotape his children.
"'The Insider' can exclusively reveal that Jon Gosselin, though his attorney, Mark J. Heller, is demanding production of the show be halted," Spencer says. "In two letters to TLC lawyers, dated September 29, 2009, Gosselin demands the network cease and desist production and leave his property. To quote one of the letters, Jon's attorney writes, "Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon's family home for any reason. In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers.' "
Spencer adds that Gosselin and his lawyer tell "The Insider' exclusively that Jon and Kate both own the property where the show is being shot. Jon has joint custody of the kids and is able to make decisions about their welfare. He deemed it was not in the best interest of the children's welfare to continue with production of the show."
The letter, according to "The Insider," is dated the same day TLC sent out a news release about Jon's participation in the show being minimized and the show being re-named.
"Jon found out about the name change the same way we all did -- through The Associated Press," Spencer says. "He and his attorney assert to 'The Insider' they've been in discussions to pull plug on the program and take the kids off the show for weeks prior to (Tuesday's) announcement."

- Ok, so here's my opinion, cuz we've all got them. Are Jon and Kate perfect parents??? NO. Are any of us perfect parents?? NO!! But the idea that Jon wants the show to end to protect his children is a real laugh! He wants the show to end because over time his true colors showed through, as they always do with people thrust (or crawling) into the spotlight. People cannot be fake forever, so eventually we realize the truth. That?s the reason he wants the show to end.... so he can be the big jerk that he is to his wife and children in the shadows like all the other jerks out there. Kate is far from perfect, and I agree she over indulges her children because she didn't have much growing up, but at least she is not lying and stealing from them. I think to remove these kids from the cameras at this point would be detrimental to their safety because at least at this point there are eyes every where to insure that that Jon's childish behavior is being monitored. And to address one of the comments above: Jon talked about wanting the show to end not to protect his children, but so that he could be himself again. If you recall his exact words were "I can't just be Jon, I have to be Jon and Kate plus 8." So his interest was never in being a good father, it was in being selfish and being able to be a jerk who was under the radar instead of all over the press.

I think Kate makes a good point though, that everybody makes a living, the show is giving them more than her nurse's salary did. so she shouldn't work and be dependent on a lazy man?
********
The woman figured her work was over when she packed all those embryos in and sold their lives for public consumption. Both of these people are unfit trash. - Reply to this comment
- Child protective services should have shut this circus down long ago.

- I enjoy the show very much with Kate and the children. I honestly won't miss the hubby. He made a mess of his life and now has to pay the price and is crying like a baby and complaining like a child. Get rid of him and carry on with the excellent show. The very best to Kate and the kids and continue to be happy.

- Well whoop dee doo, there is a brain amongst all of these people. Well thank heavens someone is thinking of the children. Jon, you just made me have a little faith in the male population. I know there are good men out there, but sometimes lately on the news you don't hear too many good stories. These children should not be exposed to the media. This is not about money or who is on the gravy train, this is about the children having a normal life. I never watch the show, because I don't believe in exploiting children in this manner. Just to watch every little thing they do every day, this is sick entertainment in my opinion.

- I think both these parents are selfish idiots, I never liked Kate to begin with she is a control freak and a nag...and Jon he's a little boy himself who shouldn't be having kids or a wife if he really didn't want to grow up. These people don't deserve to have such beautful children who are totally innocent in all of this and they are being exploited at the expense of their parents selfishness! Both parents should be doing what is best for the kids, not their selfish ego's!

- If this is a dirty divorce, IMO it's all Jon's doing. I can't say how disgusting I think he is, it's not printable. And has this jerk thought about how he's going to support his whole family? Look at this Halderman producer who tried to blackmail Letterman: part of the reason for his financial woes is having to pay $6000 in child support every month. And if Jon thinks this behavior isn't going to hurt his so-called "career" in television?? Just take a look at Kanye West, who hasn't done anything nearly as bad as what Jon's done to his family, IMO. We need to give Kanye a break; he had a momentary lapse in judgment but this Gosselin divorce is endless nightmare.

- I can't believe anyone thinks either of these people care about their children more than the money.

- It's about time. Maybe Jon is sincere and wants to repair his marriage, which is already a better effort than 'most' Americans are willing to invest.
Get those cameras out of the house before the kids are totally screwed up. - Reply to this comment
- After watching the Insider last night with Jon playing co-host ... I now see what he is about. He is jealous of all the TV offers that Kate is getting ... did anyone else see him last night ... I kept thinking "What is this man doing?" Jon is not a good verbal communicator but his actions speak louder than any words. Wonder how long it will be before HE is hired somewhere on TV ... so much for complaining about the paparazzi .. he is jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

- All share or no one does. Gotta protect those kids dad just like a good dad should!

- Jon is a man jealous of his wife. He wants to be the center of attention and now that the show no longer wants him, he suddenly tries to be a father figure. What a phony! The public can see through that; he's a nobody. Kate and her children will do well to move beyond Jon.

- Jon is only worried about himself. On one of the shows tonight, when someone asked him what he planned on doing to pay the bills and he said he couldn't comment but said he had other offers. THAT IS IT. That is why he wants the kids off the show, so that Kate can't make any more money but HE was OFFERED something else. So something else would pay him big bucks but not Kate. He is so full of himself and trying to get even or get back at Kate.

- Why not call the show "Gosselin 8" and leave it at that? Unless Jon can provide for the children in the manner which they have become acustom to, then I don't think he should interfere with the income they now have.
As for Kate being a bad mom? I don't think so. I think she's an imperfect mom....like we all are.
Is Jon a bad father? I don't think so. I think he makes mistakes....just like the rest of us.
Do Jon AND Kate love their children? Absolutely, and their children obviously love them.
Who are we to judge? Do you know DEFINITELY what goes on in their home and their lives when the cameras aren't around? No, none of us do.
I, for one, have been watching the show from the first episode. Not for Jon or Kate, but for those 8 little ones who have captured all our hearts. No, they're not brats, they're normal every day kids...and sometimes EVERY kid acts bratty! I hope the show goes on, but if Jon AND Kate decide it's not in the best interest of their children, I totally understand and respect that.
I wish them all the best. - Reply to this comment
- Hey! Who cares!? Jon's credit card debt must be killing him right now. She'll just get pregnant again and it'll be Kate plus 10,11 or 12! She needs more money to take care of their brats before the terrible 2's turns into the terrible 15 and 21! YO! HO! YO! HO! A pirate's life for me! YO! HO! YO! HO! A pirate's life for me!
Jon should get a gig on the Discovery Channel and have it called Jon Without Kate Who can't get a Date or Gigolo Jon is here ladies to ring your bell! Because he knows how to do it well! Why don't we just call him Grumpy? Grumpy the Spermnator!
Kate's Cash Cow will make you say Wow! So she's getting a talk show too?
Yeah Kate's Gift For Goofy Gab. Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing that in HD!

- So he is acting out of self interest and so is Kate, and Kate is too stupid to see that this voyeuristic abomination probably caused the divorce (does anyone with a brain honestly think that if they had told TLC to go away and had a normal life out of the spotlight, that they would have had this divorce now?). This mess is not good for the kids - name me 5 child stars that did not get get directly messed up by the experience. I can think of maybe 4, and can name you 100 who would have been better off out of the business. So Jon stumbled on to the truth. And don't say, well he was filming 2 days before - I have been working at jobs that in my gut I know were not good for me or my family and then one morning I awoke, like an epiphany and basically said "enough was enough". I am not saying this is Jon's position. It could be, or it could be he is just being petty: I don't know and neither does anyone else. And those who are so sure that Jon is being petty with less evidence criticize the birthers . Either way, he is doing the right thing and he certainly has the right to do it. Most of the Feminists posting are just upset that he "trumped" Kate and TLC and there is really nothing they can do short of terminating Jon's parental rights-and if Kate does that simply to keep a television series going shows all of us what she really is. Besides, there are no grounds to do it. As a man, Jon has realized that the media, the courts, and 51% of American society(women) are against him. He is playing hard ball legally. That is what you have to do sometimes. It is necessary.

- Okay let me see if I get this straight....A parent with 8 children walks away and decides that the "job" that has given the family a way to live a good life for years now has to stop...May I ask where the child support for 8 children will be coming from? I think they were very smart doing the show. I don't know anyone who would have turned that gift horse in the mouth down when faced with 8 sets of eyes looking back at you. I think every relationship has it's ups and downs and it is work to keep up with parenting and a romantic relationship with your mate. Doable but difficult sometimes. I think all the children are well cared for and functioning terrific, remember this is their normal. It is also easy in a relationship with 8 children to forget to work on the couple. And in today's society we forget the "for better or worse" part and just decide, "Hey I'm not having any fun, I'm out here". They are few and far between who will stand up and say this "is" worth fighting for and I meant what I said when I took my vows and I am willing to do what it takes. These guys just need a little refocus time...I am the eternal optomist....it's never to late to turn it around if everyone is willing to listen. I await the happy ending...

- Many larger families live well on less outside of this voyeuristic mess. It is greed plain and simple. And a reasonable person would see that this is wrong for children, but Kate likes the spotlight and the money: so her motivations are not pure. The only redeeming quality for the Gosselin family of this show is the money: an important thing but should be one of several factors and not take precedence over the mental health of the children. GREED everybody all people -every poster citing the money - GREED America - don't blame Wall Street or the Banks or CEO or Health Insurance Companies - it is you: got to have things. It is the reason some people support their representative: he brings money into our state, (by taking it from another). Would you do ANYTHING to support your kids? Sell your body? That is happening on Craigslist - women are selling themselves to pay bills (for their children) at $200 an hour. I am wondering how far some of these people would go. And no it is not right to do ANYTHING to take care of your children.
- TLC............I thought that used to stand for The Learning Channel. There's nothing remotely educational on there anymore, just craaap. This is on par with the Bogus Housewives of atlanta or wherever they dredge them up from currently. There's still nothing out there that competes with good old Public Broadcasting for show quality.

- You guys who are siding with Jon may want to listen to the following video dated July 31, 2009 in response to Aunt Jodi's allogations about Child Labor Laws. Seems Jon has made a total flip from his opinions only 8 weeks ago.
