Jon Gosselin to "Guest Star" on "Plus 8"

(CBS)  It's official, The Learning Channel (TLC) is changing the title of the reality show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" to simply "Kate Plus 8."

"Early Show" national correspondent Hattie Kauffman reported Jon Gosselin's name is being dropped from the title of the show starting next week. And with ratings down, Kauffman remarked, they're not likely to improve as Jon is relegated to a role as an occasional "guest star."

In the wake of the couple's very public break-up, Craig Tomashoff, executive editor of TV Guide magazine, said, "It's kind of only natural they have to shake things up, and reflect what's going on by having Jon leave the show."

Jon was the dynamic, Tomashoff said, that gave the show life for the last year.

Tomashoff said, "(Jon's) kind of perceived as the villian in a lot of this."

However, as the show goes forward, Tomashoff added, it's going to be a challenge for TLC to create enough tension to attract viewers.

Also, Kauffman reported Jon has asked for a 90-day delay in his divorce from Kate. His lawyer says it's just a coincidence, Kauffman said.

Kauffman added online reports indicate Jon might not be looking for a romantic reconciliation, as much as a better bargaining position where his kids are concerned.

Well he better go sell all of toys, the car (that would not hold half his family), the motorcycle, the 28,000.00 ring he purchased for his girlfriend , oh and how is he going to keep his girlfriend when he well hopefully fade away from the bright lights of the money he has taken from his children. He might want to save a few dollars for the kids therapist when the get old enough to see how he acted. Jon you are a fool and stepped in it big time. So what kind of job are you going to get (since you never held down one) since you have bit the hand that feed you. I can understand why you go out with a 23yr old because no one your age would touch you. You better start thanking the one person that brought the money coming your soon to ex Kate.

OMG...I just heard that Jon has put a hault on the camera crew entering his home. I can not believe this guy. He needs to grow up. He wants his cake and eat it to. What is he thinking? Is he going to support Kate and their 8 children? How will he do this when he is off playing the playboy which I might add I see nothing attractive about him whatsoever, as he is a jerk, and has no income himself? I think it's sickening when the guy walks away from his responsibility and in punishing his ex-wife he really punishes the children. We need new laws in this country to protect women like Kate.

The guy has no class, and it's about time she dumped him. From magazine to magazine Jon is now showing his true colors. Kate was "tough" with him?.. Big Woopi! The guy needs a babysitter 24 hrs a day. Since she left him he has been making an ass out of himself publicly by prancing around club after club with different women. Would any woman want that kind of a man around? Hell NO! By delaying his divorce he is just being plain nasty, trying to get back at Kate. Be strong Kate, you have alot more class than he does!
