Ladies' Turn on "Dancing with the Stars"

(CBS)  It was Ladies' Night on "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday as a group of eight celebrities took to the dance floor with the Viennese waltz or the salsa.

Singer Macy Gray didn't impress the judges with her dance steps but her use of metaphor surely got their attention. The off-color way she described performing live after weeks of rehearsal (only partially bleeped out) had two of the three judges doubled over in laughter. Though she got high praise for charm, she won the lowest score of the night - 19.

Singer-actress Kelly Osbourne provided the most touching moment of the night when her Viennese waltz brought her rocker father to his feet and her talent-show judge mother to tears. After performing, she ran across the dance floor and gave both a kiss and a hug.

She earned a total of 31 points, tying with singer Mya and coming in just behind the first-place dancer, swimsuit model Joanna Krupa, who earned a 34.

One of the relay dances featured Gray, Osbourne, Mya and actress Melissa Joan Hart doing the cha cha. Hart, criticized for hunched shoulders earned a score for the night of 24.

The other relay saw Krupa, former model Kathy Ireland, actress Debi Mazar and swimmer Nathalie Coughlin doing the foxtrot.

Mazar, penalized for a lift by judge Carrie Ann Inaba, ended the night with a score of 22. Ireland, described as "graceful" but lacking in "pizzazz" scored a 20 for the night. Couglin's score was 27.
The show opened Monday with performances by eight male dancers: actor Ashley Hamilton (score of 19), Ultimate Fighter Chuck Liddell (22), snowboarder Louie Vito (27), singer Donny Osmond (30), chef Mark Dacascos (29), NFL champion Michael Irvin (19), singer Aaron Carter (32) and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (19).

Tonight, the last night of a three-show premiere, will see the elimination of two of the 16 dancers, one man and one woman.

The show also will feature a tribute to actor and dancer Patrick Swayze, who died last week of pancreatic cancer. Dancers reportedly will perform to music from his two most popular movies: "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost."
