Kanye West Gets 9 BET Award Noms

(AP)  Kanye West might still be under fire for his controversial act on MTV, but the ranting rapper could be looking at plenty of praise from BET next month.

West has received nine nominations for the fourth annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, which will be televised Oct. 27. The rapper caused a stir Sunday after he interrupted 19-year-old country singer Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 32-year-old West's latest album, "808 & Heartbreak," has sold over a million copies.

Jay-Z and Lil Wayne drew the second-most nominations with seven apiece, while T.I. received six nods.

The network will also recognize veteran rapper Ice Cube with the "I Am Hip-Hop" icon award. The show will be hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

I think Kanye West is OVER. I thought Beyonce was great to bring Taylor back up on stage; however, Beyonce's dance was so vulgar, it was hard to watch. I like sexy but this was NO CLASS. What was she thinking? Her dance was awful. I use to love Madonna's shocking behavior but there was always something interesting about it. Beyonce's dance was just uninteresting vulgarity.

Hopefully now, Kayne will start showing some much needed humility.

Kanye is a narcissistic, racist, spoiled brat.

Too bad that many who follow him don't consider his behavior unacceptable and will continue to fund his success.

If a white singer did this to black singer, Al Sharpton would have a lot to say. The double standard is getting old fast.

Just another person that got lucky and noticed for his talent; there are TONS of folks out there just as good and he should be greatful to be where he is. After the way he behaved at the MTV awards I hope his backside is COMPLETELY locked out here, it would serve him right. It might teach him some humility and tact; something missing BIG TIME in Hollywood high life. Just because you're rich and famous DOES NOT give you the right to treat people cruely. Or and those apologies on big time TV, yeah, you're SO sorry. Hey Kayne, take a tip from Chris Brown...his actions pretty much deep-sixed his career.
