Annie Le, a promising graduate student, was found dead on her would-be wedding day

(CBS/ AP)  The fiancee of a man considered a person of interest in the killing of a female Yale graduate student dismissed allegations in blog entries last year that he was having an affair, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

"He is a bit naive, doesn't always use the best judgement, definitely is not the best judge of character but, he is a good guy," Jennifer Hromadka, 23, wrote of her boyfriend, Raymond Clark III, who police took into custody Tuesday.

No charges were filed against Clark, 24, in Middletown, but police took him into custody while searching for DNA and other physical evidence. Police said Clark would be released after they obtain evidence they need from him and his Middletown apartment.

Clark was handcuffed and escorted out of the apartment building in Middletown and into a silver car. Neighbors leaned over the apartment building's iron railings and cheered as police led him away. CBS affiliate WFSB reported that 18 FBI agents went into the apartment just after 10 p.m.

New Haven Police Chief James Lewis described Clark as a person of interest, not a suspect, in the death of 24-year-old Annie Le, whose body was found Sunday, the day she was to be married. He said police were hoping to compare DNA taken from Clark's hair, fingernails and saliva to more than 150 pieces of evidence collected from the crime scene. That evidence may also be compared at a state lab with DNA samples given voluntarily from other people with access to the crime scene.

"We're going to narrow this down," Lewis said. "We're going to do this as quickly as we can."

Both Clark and Hromadka work at the Yale Animal Resources Center, reports CBS News correspondent Randall Pinkston.

Other entries in Hromadka's blog include:

"My boyfriend, Ray, if you don't know him, has no interest in any of the other girls at [the university research center] as anything more than friends.

"This rumor of a 'fling' is probably the most stupid thing i have ever heard and really is not even worth going into detail about.

"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be, but before you start pointing fingers make sure your hands are clean!!"
The Post reports the couple has plans to marry in 2011.

Personally, I'm just a little sick of all of the hate that humans spew.

I feel sadness that this obviously intelligent bright young woman was murdered and even found on the day that should have been the happiest day of her young life.

AND then there's this young man. I hope he isn't the one who did this to Annie. Either way...mercy should be shown...

Before we go accusing the girlfriend...let's not forget that the police said that he has defensive wounds and scratches on his arms and chest...if the girlfriend killed her then where the hell did those come from?

I think his fiance is in love with him. I don't think there's any other reason for her blogs. They weren't meant to be front page material. Which should teach most kids not to have blogs, eh?

It would be nice if the media waited till after a person was charged before they destroyed his life with all the rumors and innuendo they pass along, we are supposed to be innocent till proven guilty in this country!
But maybe the real murderers are this vicious society that creates the people who do all the crime that the media lives on?

I completely agree!

I know each media venue is pathetically desperate to generate "news" and get ratings... but this is too much. A young girl's blogs from over a year ago?!? Wow - I have a few left over fortune cookies that might help.

Here's a scenario. Perhaps his jealous girlfriend, Jennifer did it. Didn't she work at the lab too? Perhaps, blinded by love, he's being controlled by her and covering for her. Seems like a possible plot twist. (I've watched too many episodes of Law & Order-SVU.)

True, but "Person of Interest" equals "Soon to be Charged" 95 percent of the time.

Person of Interest means you have no clue, and need a judge to sign your fishing license.

Perhaps you missed the story about the DNA connection. Theu are going to love him in prison. Young, tender white meat.
by starlablues September 17, 2009 1:32 PM EDT
Agreed... People have already hung him. What happened to Innocent until proven guilty!

From the above article, "He is a bit naive, doesn't always use the best judgement, definitely is not the best judge of character but, he is a good guy," Jennifer Hromadka, 23, wrote of her boyfriend, Raymond Clark III..."

So if he has all of these negative working with him why the heck are you wanting to marry this guy Jennifer? What about "doesn't always use the best judgement", and "definitely is not the best judge of character"? Hmmm, a little projection bias going on here?

Perhaps Jennifer considered Annie Le a threat to her relationship with Raymond and wanted him to kill her?

This chick should have taken a lesson from the Craigslist killer's fiancee. Naive women, stop going to the media and defending your murderer fiances; you just make yourselves look foolish.
