(CBS)  For country music veterans Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin, it's never too late to return to making music.

Sixteen years since their last album, Grammy-award-winning Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers are releasing another one, "The Pilgrimage," which hits shelves next week.

Larry Gatlin wrote more than 30 Top 40 hits, including songs that were recorded by music greats such as Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Barbara Streisand, Tom Jones, and Elvis Presley.

Larry is a jack of all trades: He's also an actor and writer. In 1995, he played himself in the TV-movie about Dottie West's life entitled "Big Dreams & Broken Hearts: The Dottie West Story."

He also wrote a memoir called "All the Gold in California," published in 1998. In 1999, he toured and entertained troops of the 1st CAV division in Bosnia.

Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers stopped by "The Early Show Saturday Edition"'s "Second Cup Cafe" to perform their classic hit, "All The Gold In California," and their brand new single, "Johnny Cash Is Dead And His House Burned Down."

"All I am trying to say is there will never be another Johnny Cash - and that's the truth," said Larry Gatlin on the band's official Web site.

Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers are known for their hit songs "Somebody Like Lucy," "Come Back To Texas," "Steady As She Goes," "If I Ever See Utah Again," "It's Not Your World You're Painting Blue" and "The Trouble With A Love Song."

In 1977, the Gatlins won a Grammy for Best Country Song for "Broken Lady," which reached No. 5 on the Hot Country Songs chart in 1976.

Wow! I caught the Gatlin Bros on the Early Morning Show this morning at about mid-song. Loved the music (naturally from Johnny Cash's Big River) but went balistic about the lyrics! How dare you! I thought...mad enough to e-mail CBS to yell at them. After watching and listening to what Larry had to say about how the song evolved, and meaning no disrespect but a tribute to Mr. Johnny Cash, I was elated! Welcome back Gatlin Bros! Keep it comming!

Thank You!
