Summer's End Cocktails and "Mocktails"
(CBS)
With the last unofficial weekend of summer upon us, it's OK to have one more weekend of official partying.
To help make your summer end its tastiest, mixologist Charlotte Voisey shared on "The Early Show" Friday some great alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to serve up this holiday weekend.
RECIPES:
Non alcoholic Fresh Fruit Mojitos
Fresh fruit
1 oz fresh lime juice (the juice of one lime)
1 oz simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
8-10 mint leaves
Shake all and pour into a tall glass
Finish with chilled soda water
Ultimate Party Mojito
This is a spiced up mojito using fresh cucumber, Hendrick's gin and a splash of rose champagne in place of ordinary soda water - a real party piece!
1 1/2 oz Hendrick's Gin
4 thin slices English cucumber
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
10 mint leaves
Splash rose champagne
Muddle cucumber slices, add lime, simple syrup, mint and Hendrick's and shake well
Strain over fresh ice in a tall glass, crushed ice is best
Finish with a splash of rose champagne
Elderflower Sparkle
1 1/2 oz elderflower syrup
Fill with chilled sparkling water
Pour ingredients directly into a champagne flute
This still gives a sense of special occasion, just without the alcohol.
Blood Orange Bellini
1 oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
Fill with chilled Prosecco
Pour ingredients directly into a champagne flute
A great new flavor for a Bellini, classic Italian double act of ingredients
Family Style Sangria
2 cups White grape juice
2 cups Apple juice
4 kiwi fruits (peeled and cut into slices)
1/4 of a large Watermelon (cut into small pieces)
1 cup Raspberry syrup
2 cups Soda water
Combine ingredients and fresh fruit in a large pitcher with ice.
All the family can share.
Indian Summer Punch
The peel of two oranges
1 cup Dark simple syrup (made with demarera sugar)
1 cup Fresh lime juice
2 cups Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
2 cups Fresh pineapple Juice
2 cups Ginger Beer
1 small bowl of Mango sorbet
