TheStreet.com reports that DSL subscriber growth from the big phone companies has been slower than expected over the last quarter . That softness is room for optimism for cable investors (or executives), analysts say. Cable companies' numbers will come soon, with Comcast reporting on Wednesday.

Seems the professor takes, perhaps a bit too seriously, that which most of us regard as only a relatively minor annoyance, the inability to speak clearly understandable English.

I find the situation humorous, being raised a "Black" child of the 60's, we were encouraged by our leaders to educate ourselves as much as possible.

This was not only because the "white" society pointed to our grammar and syntax as being indicative of our inability to be educated, (ironic that now it is they who always adopt vernacular originating from the "Black" neighborhoods) but it was also clear that society wished that we not to gain knowledge that would enable us to better obtain a better life for ourselves.

What is funniest is that I share a distinction with President Obama on these threads, having been called "elitist" by "whites", because of my choice of vocabulary.

I also note that contributing journalists for this and other news media often misspell, or misuse surprisingly common English terms, but still make the big dollars.

Perhaps the professor feels the need to revisit this standard upon those who are paid large amounts of money for conveying information through the spoken word.

At any rate, I would like very much to see photos of the professor, and the weatherman, it should prove quite entertaining.

I wish this was better explained. As it stands, it hardly makes any sense.

Sounds mentally ill. Why is she still a professor?

The weather is not always the same, not remotely. And the difference between a nice 75 degree day, and a 95 degree day is more than slightly important to everyone.

Who the heck cares about the weather terminology in LA. It is the same practically every single day. Remember the Steve Martin film "LA Story"?
