Blogging soldier silenced

A U.S. Soldier who wrote a highly publicized blog from Iraq has been told to stand down.

Army Sgt. Levi Lohnes, stationed in Iraq since March 2004, has chronicled his experiences--almost daily--since he learned of his assignment. Lohnes primarily wrote about the general goings-on of his platoon: their subdued July 4th celebration, graffiti on a bathroom wall and a spontaneous trip to the local Burger King.

He avoided political commentary and showed great compassion for the Iraqi people. The strongest opinion he ever put forth was his hope that the lives of Iraqis would soon improve. But something apparently caught the attention of someone higher up the chain of command.

On July 8, Lohnes took down all archived entries and posted a message stating that he had "been advised to stop blogging for the time being." He gave no explanation as to where the order came from or the reasoning behind it--simply stating that this was "just the way things have to be for right now."

Lohnes' blog had been getting significant attention since it was featured in the June 12th issue of People magazine. Still, one can only speculate as to what aspect of his journal prompted the military to put a halt to it. If not a security breach, was it simply a matter of politics--or rather a lack thereof?

While there are still plenty of soldier blogs around, few display such a strong desire to help the people in that violence-wracked country.

Thanks for tuning in to the "Adjusting Your Makeup As You Age"

See below the under eye products that were used in the segment.

The Bobbi Brown Cosmetics ??Tinted Eye Brightener? in the medium shade (peachy pink tone)was used on the model along with the Mark. ?Get Bright Hook up Highlighter? in natural(warm beige tone). Use these products along with your concealer for best results. Understand that you might not need both products but if you use either the Tinted Brightener by Bobbi Brown or the Get Bright by Mark. you should use a concealer in addition to these products.

I am not sure if that is it, she said it was peachy color, and it is not mentioned that it is peachy or not. I would go on their chat on Monday and ask someone. I see when you google her name, she has a make up line too. Perhaps it is a part of hers?

Funny of all the thing mentioned this is the one that peaked our interest. I too, looked for this and only came up with Cover girl stuff. Thaks motonail for finding it for us! It sure would be nice if we were allowed to age in the USA and not be so worried about it!

Cyndi mentioned a product she called "high lights" or "eye lights" as she applied makeup around the first model's eye. This product is not listed here. How can I find out what/ who makes that product? I have been looking for something like this for months now?

kristy, i could not find it either! I watched it on line and the product is hidden with a banner. Frustrating-Searched on line and i found only sticks called eye lights from Anastasia and other companies. BTW The 'advertising' on this 'news show' was so obnoxious. This piece seems to show a lot of the makeup artist's product line on this page. (the earlier pieces shamelessly plugged: The Home Depot,Behr Paints, Coldstone Creamery-it was like an informercial!) I won't watch again.
