(CBS)  When it comes to tennis, seven-time Grand Slam champ John McEnroe seems more passionate than anyone. Now he's using some of that passion to raise awareness for prostate cancer as an ambassador for "Stand Up To Cancer."

McEnroe stopped by The Early Show Thursday to talk about his work to raise awareness and also talk a little tennis.

His father was diagnosed with prostate cancer about five years ago. McEnroe said experts are now suggesting that men get the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test at age 40.

The test is a simple blood test. His message: be proactive, not reactive, and get tested earlier.
