Wife Blogging About "Annoying" Hubby
(CBS)
Lots of women think their husbands have annoying habits, but most women keep it private.
But Tiffanie Wong, of Brooklyn, N.Y., is broadcasting her hubby's annoying habits to the world on her blog, My HusbandisAnnoying.com.
And what does her husband think?
Mark Joyella - who is still married to Wong - said on "The Early Show" Monday, "The first time I saw it, I just busted out laughing. When I saw the headline, I thought, 'Okay, that is pretty funny.'"
But what is so annoying about her husband?
Joyella demonstrated some of the things that annoy his wife on the broadcast, including an Irish accent and his robot imitation. Wong said it's also annoying that she has so many pictures of her husband holding a beer.
Wong said she created the blog as a joke for only a few select friends and family members to see. She said she didn't expect anyone else to read it.
"(The blog) made me laugh, it made him laugh, I thought I'd send it to my mom, I'd send it to my best friend, and that would be it," Wong said. "So, it was supposed to be funny just for us, and then all of a sudden people started reading it."
The blog is only three weeks old, Joyella said, but it has since gone viral. Readers' responses, "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez said, have gone from just a few in its earliest postings to more than 85,000 in recent days.
"Once (the blog) got out there, it just sort of took off," Joyella said.
Wong said many women have shown gratitude for Wong's openness about her husband's annoying traits. Some women, Wong said, have written their husbands must be Joyella's twin because they do the same annoying things.
But now, when Joyella does something his wife thinks is annoying, he has a comeback:
"The beauty of it is, now, anything I do that annoys her, (I say), 'I'm giving you gold for the Web site,'" Joyella said.
But what about Wong? Is there a "My Wife is Annoying" Web site from Joyella in the works?
Though the Web site name has recently been registered, Joyella said, he won't be the person writing on it.
"The deal was, I said I would not blog to that effect, and in return, I get the right to veto photos," he said. "And believe it ... there are actually worse (photos) that I've got the right to say, 'no.'"
