Report: Jackson Doc To Be Charged

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  Michael Jackson's personal doctor will be charged with manslaughter in the late singer's death, according to FOXNews.com.

Dr. Conrad Murray will be arrested within two weeks - and possibly as soon as next Wednesday - according to the report, which cites an anonymous law enforcement source.

Investigators will likely execute another search warrant - possibly at a Los Angeles pharmacy - the report says, as they try to build a case that Murray's treatments led to the pop star's death in June.

Murray reportedly gave the entertainer the powerful anesthetic propofol to help him sleep hours before his death.

FOXNews.com also reports that Jackson's dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, will face charges related to medical malpractice. His arrest will not come for another two weeks, according to the report.

On Tuesday, Murray posted a YouTube video thanking his family and supporters, saying that he was "afraid to return phone calls or use my e-mail."

Authorities were weighing whether to offer Murray the chance to surrender in Los Angeles or arresting him in Houston, where he currently is staying, according to the FOXNews.com report.

Meanwhile, the King of Pop is set to be buried Aug. 29 - what would have been his 51st birthday - at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Jackson biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli said the entertainer's family has been fearful of somebody kidnapping or vandalizing the body.

But Forest Lawn is a private, gated cemetery where "fans will never be able to make a pilgrimage to Michael Jackson's crypt," reports CBS News correspondent Hattie Kauffman.

MJ's family is looking to blame anyone, They can't just believe their
dear son was doing drugs! They have known for years he was on drugs.
why didn't they help him then. That was the only reason a doctor was hired, to help give them in the first place.
It's to late to even think about pointing fingers. finger pointing needs to go back to the family and the ones that worked for him.
Hell i saw it the day he wasn't able to walk to the court house in his pj's.
Now it's just about money and greed!!

diprivan, FOR hospital set up only.
diprivan, FOR surgery as anesthetic cases only.
Murray's not a SURGEON nor an ANESTHESIOLOGIST!

JUST arrest this guy. No doubt about his negligent, malpractice and misconduct.

Unless NJ was mentally incompetent and certifiably so, his hands are every bit as dirty as the doc's.

MJ wanted to play with potentially lethal drugs and paid someone to provide them to him.

There is no evidence reported that these drugs were administered against MJ's will at this point.

He danced with the Devil and lost...which shows that even by age 50, MJ had no common sense.

If someone is addicted to drugs and totally sleep deprived, they would be mentally incompetent. No doubt about that. A person would have to be absolutely desperate to be using propofol. There is no way that he could have been in his right mind.

Of course they weren't given to him against his will! He was desperate and out of his mind.

Stop and think about it. How long do you think that you could go without sleep before you would do anything to get it? And I'm not talking about a few hours missed sleep. How long would it take without sleep to be classified as mentally incompetent? Not long. From the sounds of it, he couldn't sleep at all.

I don't think this is manslaughter at all. This is the result of a man (Michael Jackson), who has a lot of money, getting his way. How much right does a patient have to choose their own medication? Maybe I would like something to calm my nerves, and my doctor won't prescribe it to me because he feels it's addictive. Maybe he will prescribe it because if he doesn't I won't be his patient anymore. Hence, the true case of Michael Jackson and his savvy doctor.

I don't think that's a good enough excuse for the doctor. He has a higher responsibility than that to look out for the well-being of his patient. Why didn't the doctor find his patient a less potentially lethal sleep aid ? Surely the doctor should have had a better solution for Michael than propofol. I'll bet he was just lazy and didn't even try. That's also the impression given by his not carefully monitoring Michael. He should go to jail for a long time.

I've wondered why the doctor left the room after sedating Michael, to make calls?

If he was unconscious, he wouldn't hear his conversation, plus he could still keep an eye on him. For $150k/mo, you'd think you will be more watchful, especially if you are doing something illegal and/or unethical.

If MJ was aware, as his nurse claims, of the hazards of the use of propofol and wanted it anyway, I don't see how Murray could be charged with anything other than assisted suicide.....

So you think that someone that is addicted to drugs and has been deprived of sleep for who knows how long, is capable of making the right decision? Shouldn't a doctor know better?

Well there you have it sadly it only took two months after his death to figure that out. He was the last one to see him before he died which is what many knew all along. This should be no surprize to anyone.

So are you saying the DOCTOR did it?

Yes. I believe that it all started when he had that accident on that commercial. He burnt his scalp very bad and had to go on pain killers. So many doctors put people on addictive pain killers and don't bother telling their patients that they are addictive. Then they don't limit the supply. The next thing you know, they are addicted. With Michael Jackson having problems with his childhood, people criticizing him for every freaking thing, and then being FALSELY accused of abusing little boys, I think it was all just too much for him.

And this doctor is definitely at fault for getting him on that propofol. And if he isn't the doctor that started him on it, he's definitely the one that kept him on it. And he's definitely the one that left the room when he was supposed to be watching him. He killed him.
