'America's Got Talent' Narrows Field

(AP)  A trio of singing siblings, five sisters who tap dance, three tenors from Texas, a husband-and-wife dance team and a man and his dog are advancing to the next round of "America's Got Talent."

Voices of Glory, a singing trio from Highland, N.Y.; the Fab Five, dancing sisters from Morgan, Utah; the Texas Tenors of Houston; Paradizo Dance from Brooklyn; and Tony Hoard and his dog Rory from New Castle, Ind., learned Wednesday that they will compete in the show's semifinals. All are vying for a $1 million prize and the chance to headline a Las Vegas show in October.

Nick Cannon hosts. Judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff preside over the competition and offer advice, but viewers choose who wins the NBC talent show. Fans can vote for their favorites via phone, e-mail and text message, with a limit of 10 votes per phone number or address.

Morgan was disappointed that Hoard and Rory advanced instead of a piano-playing singer from California.

"If Charles DeWayne does not go through tonight, it will be the biggest scandal in the history of 'America's Got Talent,'" he said.

Apparently, scandal ensued.

Other contestants advancing to the semifinals earned unanimous praise from the judges. Osbourne called the Fab Five and Rory the dog "brilliant." Morgan called Paradizo dance "incredible" and lauded the Texas Tenors, saying their performance made him "proud to be American, and I'm not even an American." Hasselhoff said the Voices of Glory are "fantastic" and "what this show's about."

Wednesday's episode also featured a performance by the band LMFAO and magicians Penn and Teller.

By the way, if Simon doesn't step in and *negate* the judgements of those three maroons re: the recent #5/#6 pairs and do away with that moronic practice *altogether* then I'll be following "dreman's" lead and finding something ELSE for my DVR to do on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. They should all be brought back for a special RE-vote by AMERICA, and not subjected to the whims of two *Brits* (this is AMERICA'S got talent, why are they there anyway?) and an ethanol soaked buffoon.
While were at it, knock of the stupid 20 second "dramatic" pauses when announcing the results Nick! They're annoying, manipulative and downright CRUEL! Thank God for the Fast-Forward button on the DVR.

Excuse me but has anyone noticed that AGT is engaging is systematic VOTER FRAUD!? AMERICA is supposed to be voting and choosing the winners at this point in the process, right? So what's this nonsense about the "judges" choosing between contestant #'s 5 & 6!? One of those contestants got more votes that the other, right? Therefore, the one with the *most votes* should WIN, right? But NO! The "judges" get to OVERRIDE the voters...that's FRAUD in my book! I'd really be curious to know the *actual vote count* for each #5 & #6 pair that's gone through so far. Did Tony & pooch get more votes than Charles?? Yeah...sure.

In the first two weeks, the voters got it right. The judges did not. Piers voted correctly. The other two voted against Piers. Unless these two judges apologize, and the two that were voted out are re-instated, I cannot in good conscience continue to support what appeared to be a great show. Thanks Piers for voting correctly.

As soon as it was announced that Tony and Rory made it into the semifinals over Charles DeWayne, I immediately deleted the remaining season of AGT from my DVR. What a joke!! I've lost all respect for Sharon and what little respect I had for David. Piers was right about this being the biggest scandal in the show's history. They've lost me for good. Let the backlash begin!!

What a joke that Sharon and David chose that man and his dog over the very talented Charles DeWayne. Charles was one of my favorites out of the whole bunch and it's ridiculous that he wasn't chosen to move on. It makes a person not take the whole thing very seriously if the judges can't pick the most talented persons. I admire Mr. Morgan for always being so honest and correct.
