Phelps Rebounds from Loss with Record

(AP)  Michael Phelps bounced back from a stunning loss to set a world record in the 200-meter butterfly at the world swimming championships.

One night after he was soundly beaten by Germany's Paul Biedermann in the 200 freestyle, Phelps got back on track Wednesday with a time of 1 minute, 51.51 seconds - more than a half-second ahead of his previous mark, 1:52.03.

Phelps whipped around quickly to see his time and held up his right index finger when the record was posted. It was the 19th world record at these championships, the last major competition before bodysuits are banned.

Way to go Michael!

I swam in high school, played soccer and ran track - swimming practice was 3x harder than any other sport. You clowns that call him a pot head and whinner have no clue when it comes to sports and preparation to become a true champino.

Sit back in your lazy boy, drink another Bud with the Doritos on your lap, criticize and remember how great you were.

Isn't that the nature of sports fans? A bunch of wannabes sitting on their duffs with their favorite team jersey acting as if they are part of the sport? Vouyeurism is what it is

Glad to hear about this world record. Hopefully, it will shut up the idiots who blamed bong hits, rather than swimsuits, for his second place finish the previous day.

This should shut the scumbags who criticized him. Awesome to see this kid beat everyone. That's what happens when you train 6 hours a day. A true champ and example.
