Fired Town Manager and Wife Appear on "The Early Show"; He Says He Tried to Resign, But Was Fired Anyway

(CBS)  He wasn't fired because of his performance -- but his wife's.

Former Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Town Manager Scott Janke appeared on "The Early Show" Friday to discuss why he was canned from his job. And the reason -- his porn star wife Anabela Janke -- was at his side on the show.

Scott, who married Anabela in October, was fired at an emergency meeting Tuesday after the mayor and council members learned the nature of her employment. Scott, the town manager for 15 months, was unanimously voted out, terminated with six months pay.

The firing came after Anabela, who goes by the stage name Jazella Moore, was recognized by an editor of an online adult entertainment publication after a photo of the couple on the Fourth of July parade was published in the local paper.

Fort Myers Beach Mayor Larry Kiker said, "Our issue is the situation town was put in in terms of how effective we can govern and whether or not it this was going to serve as a distraction for that, and we felt like it would."

On "The Early Show" Anabela said she didn't think her husband was being treated fairly.

"When this came out, he talked to the mayor and said, 'I'm willing to resign.' And then everything just..." She then trailed off.

Scott added, "When this story began to break, I was actually called by a local reporter, who also called the mayor about a day before he was going to actually print these articles. And the mayor and I chatted on the phone. Because of my ethics, I said, 'I'm willing to resign with compensation if the town council thinks it will help the community not be so distracted." '

Scott said he and his wife were trying to keep Anabel's employment under wraps after they were married.

"We talked about it, kept our heads down a little bit," Scott said, referring to the outing this week, "and hoped it would never happen, I guess."

Scott said he was concerned about the town being hurt, but more importantly, his family.

"Paramount was our personal life being hurt. We have children and family members all over the country. So we were concerned about those kinds of things mostly."

So far, however, the couple's been supported, receiving hundreds of e-mails from people saying the town shouldn't have fired him.

"Early Show" co-anchor Harry Smith said he doesn't think it will be long before he's offered a job.

Scott said, "Well that would be nice, you got something?"

Oh come off it folks, look at the picture. Do you think they are both the same ages I don't. She looks like his daughter. Clearly this is one of these guys who is old, has money, probably has grown kids from a prior marriage, and figures I'm old, I've done my bit for God and Country, and now I'm just going to do what I want and what I want is to find myself what every man's fantasy is, a young, hot babe who is so experienced she is a porn star. This is delayed mid-life crisis in all it's ugly glory. She on the other hand, looks at him and figured, well hey there, I can probably F- him into the grave in 5 years then I get his 401K and paid-off home and savings. This is golddigger in all it's ugly glory. The two of them deserve each other.
He knew perfectly well that when he got married to her that he should have resigned right then otherwise he wouldn't have tried hiding it. So now he got caught and the town is through with him. So what? He's happy with his porn star wife, he really doesn't care what anyone else thinks, why would he care about losing this job? He can go home and s c r e w her and get s c r e w e d by her every night for the next year to make himself feel better for losing his job. Why is he suffering? Get real!!!
As for all the sanctity of marriage stuff - come off it folks, porn star or not, when these old f a r t well-off guys get married to these young hotties well right there goes the sanctity of marriage right out the window. Marriage is a partnership and how can you be a partner to someone who has absolutely no common background as you, wasn't raised in your generation, doesn't understand anything about the things that make you, you. Sure, some couples might bridge that gulf but then what happens when the young hottie gets preggers and when the baby is 5 years old the old f a r t father kicks the bucket. Tony Randall, anyone? Way to be there for your kids! And how many woman out there are perfectly happy giving up any chance of ever being a mother, ever having kids - not many.
Oh sure, everyone knows at least one age-chasm couple out there but these couples have huge obstacles to get through to make a stable marriage and become content with their life choices, which is why these pairings are so rare. And ultimately, the younger spouse is going to be left alone in their older years. It's not a great way to spend your golden years, being alone

The value of women is their natural ability to nuture and empathize with less able people as in the nursing profession or in motherhood. Any woman can become a *****. This woman allowed herself to sink to the bottom of the food chain. The husband is as sick as she is to condone it. The day will come when he will resent his wife's actions and trouble will follow. They were 100% right to fire him. His choice of wife reflects his character. I had no clue who she was, I figured maybe she was just a topless model or something and people were blowing this whole thing out of proportion. I think it's a rip-off any time that a person has to leave a job for reasons that have nothing to do with their job performance. What a person's spouse does should have no bearing or influence on the other partner's job.
