Proposal Would Restore Zelaya in 2 Days

(AP)  A new proposal to end Honduras' political crisis would restore ousted President Manuel Zelaya in two days.

Costa Rican President Oscar Arias says the proposal is the last plan he will submit as mediator in the conflict. He says Zelaya and the coup leaders should turn to the Organization of American States for a new mediator if they refuse to sign the plan.

The 11-point plan also calls on Zelaya to drop efforts to reform the Honduran Constitution - an initiative that provoked his June 28 ouster in a military coup.

Arias presented the plan Wednesday and said he hoped both sides would sign it Thursday. It includes a timetable that would return Zelaya to power Friday.

The US started spreading the most radical left wing revolutions of their day-with SUCCESS-[France,& almost all S. Am. etc etc..]later going the OTHER way & wasteing years & fortunes in the "cold war",it ended up it was never needed,The Soviets & Chinese saw their errors & self corrected-likely delayed by western pressures.Lets get SMART & let these "experiments " run their course NATURALLY,the idiot Bush is now gone & we can stop trying to stop high tide with a bucket.

So, did I miss something?

This guy breaks the local law(s), and it's ok for him to retake office after being legally removed?

I say, if it's not acceptable to Honduras - then let Arias drop the ball and, if you must, put pressure on the OAS to replace him with someone who will broker a conclusion.

I would also guess that Arias already thinks this wont fly, given his ultimatum.

Talk about Meddling. This guy was kicked out because he wanted to be pres for life, against their constittion and their courts so ruled. Then he organized a "mob" with phoney ballots for a election that only he recognised. Are we,,, the USA nuts ? We are supporting the BAD GUYS. who likes him ? Castro and Chvez.

So American AGAIN forces something down the throats of another country, I guess we'll never learn to mind our own business even after dozens of examples of our mistakes. I wonder why so much of Central and South America has turned against us, could it be our meddling?

Our refusal to meddle is in your eyes, "Meddling"?????? WOW!!!
We can't win because of viewpoints like yours..
It is their fight, not ours, we 'should stay out of it'. When It spills outside their borders then we 'Can' (not should) make it our fight. Rowdy! just shut up for a while....

Why Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton are permitting the return of the tyrant Zelaya? They will be 100% responsible if Honduras becomes a dictatorship. Even though George Bush made many mistakes, in this situation he would act for the benefit of the American people. It seems that Mr. Obama is acting as if he was a secret admirer of Hugo Chavez.
