Obama Notes Lack of Humility Among Bankers

(AP)  President Obama says he sees a lack of humility among leaders of the financial community.

While noting that some of the nation's most powerful banks had repaid federal bailout money, Mr. Obama said: "What you haven't seen (in the financial sector) is a change in culture, a certain humility where they kind of step back and say gosh, you know, we really messed things up."

Mr. Obama was asked in an interview on NBC's "Today" show about bonuses paid to those in the financial sector after the federal government had to step in with taxpayer money to prevent the system from collapsing.

The president said the industry "should be more focused on products we're providing consumers. Let's make sure we're operating in a more secure, safe fashion."

Those gifts to Goldman were done by Bush and Paulson. The money was shot through AIG LONG before President Obama was sworn in. It is good to get the facts straight, so that there are no misunderstandings that lead to distortions.

I agree with the President. Many of the millionaires don't care about the working class; and whether or not there's a Depression outside their mansions, is none of their concern. This is why President Obama was elected, to bring some needed change. Unless new legislature is enacted the abuse brought on by the very rich will continue, and the "working poor" will continue to suffer.
