CBS News national correspondent Hattie Kauffman spoke with "Inside Edition" 's Jim Moret, who said there's talk that Janet has bonded with the children since their father's death.
"She has said, 'I'll step forward and I will raise them if this is what they want," ' Moret said.
Jackson's kids, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince Michael Jackson II, known as Blanket, are staying at the Jacskon family home in Encino, Calif., with Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson, as called for in Michael's will.
On "The Early Show" Friday, Kauffman observed that the children's lives are apparently different -- they haven't been seen once with the black face masks they wore while Michael was alive.
Moret said he's talked to a family friend of the Jacksons who said the children are all grieving, but are happy because they're with their relatives.
Kauffman, who toured the Jackson home in 2004, noted the kids can play in the backyard or spend time in its theater.
This week, Kauffman reported, the Jackson children also attended a Jehovah's Witness service with the family.
Firpo Carr, Michael's friend, said the kids are familiar with the tenets of the faith.
"They believe that they're going to see Dad again when he's awakened from his sleep, that is, when he is resurrected from the dead."
A custody hearing for the Jackson children is scheduled for Monday.

- Kathryn will absolutely deny or will not accept a blood transfusion if ever needed by Michael's kids. Will the courts consider that?

- Hello everyone!someone said jw allow children to be rape and child abuse, its crazy to say something like that, because it going against everything we beleive.our children are the most important in our lives and we try to protect them.Jehovah Witness are loving people we try to live our live according to how the bible say we should live.We go to people homes to talk about Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ. Those who talk to us we talk to and those who don't want to talk to us its ok.we don't take it personal.we don't think we are better than anyone.we want to help others to come to know about Jehovah God and his only begotten son who is Jesus Christ.we do abstain from blood, transfusion violate sarcedness of blood.act15:28-29/leviticus17:14.before people say we let our children die you need to sit down with JW in get correct information.we preach about gods kingdom like Jesus did when he was on earth.we are not ashamed of talking to people about Jehovah and Jesus Christ,Why should we? Jesus gave his life as a ransom so that everyone will have an chance to live.Would any of us give our children? Our creator is a wonderful god to give his only begotten son.no we are not ashamed 2tim1:7-13/2tim15-17,matthew28:18-2,john17:3,2.Back to mj family you should not be quick to judge people you don't know.let them take care of grandkids privately.

- Michael Jacksons children are going to end up just as disturbed as their father was.
Moma Jackson (Katherine) is bringing them to the Kingdom Hall, so they can be indoctrinated. Jehovah?s Witness have the highest mental illness rate of any religion.
The future is not bright for MJ?s children if this is permitted - Reply to this comment
- There is clearly a lot of vitriol spinning around the Jehovah's Witnesses, which is of course exactly what they expect--it's been prophesied.
Convenient that a systematized religious culture of insularity, sexual discrimination, legal manipulation, child abuse and isolation, and brainwashing tends to bring that up in people. - Reply to this comment
- When Jehovah's Witnesses leaders receive criticism for misleading followers it's because they have hurt a lot of people.
The JW are actually the ones who attack other faiths and they do it a lot.
They will get in-your-face on my private doorstep about all the other *false religions* fanatically deflect any exposure of their
false doctrines, and smear as "hate monger" anyone who rebuttals.
There are a lot of web pages out there on Jehovah's Witnesses do a little browsing - Reply to this comment
- Hate on Haters LOL. All I can do is sit back and laugh at some of the negative comments being said about JW's, but should we as Jehovah Witnesses expect anything less, weren't we warned in the bible that the world would hate us. They hated Jesus, so of course they are going to hate us!
It's funny how we are the only religion not involved in politics, wars, and there have even been deaths in the name of certain religion God,s but us JW's who do nothing but promote Jehovah and his coming Kingdom are ripped apart and hated on a daily basis, so I say to my brothers and sister don't waste your time arguing and/or debating with negative people on this web site because we know that the hate has to happen in order for Jehovah's purpose to be fufilled.
Hating us (JW's) is all apart of prophesy, so I say Hate on Haters, and have a wonderful day or evening, which ever is suitable to you :-) - Reply to this comment
- Janet is the best person to raise his kids. She does not need to make money off them like their own mother wother would. Janet is a multi-millianaire and the only to tke on this is out of the goodnes of her heart. I would not trust those kids with anybody else because all can see is how much money they can make off them. Janet is the only one who made big, not as big as michael of course. But she is on the same level as madonna. Janet does not have the business mind michael had but she has peole around her that do. Im Church of God in Christ inc. but I do respect the JW believes because if we are Christians then we would want to a wittnes of who Jehovah is. Jehovah is God's name in the old testament. So in one aspect I am a JW. There are those that call themselves Christians but, they want to keep the good news to themselves and not be a wittness to what God has done for them. Exploitation is my biggest fear for the kids and Janet will not let that happen.

- the article here says the kids aren't wearing the face masks anymore. Debbie Rowe told ABC in her public interview a few years ago that was her request to have the kids wear the masks because of so many threats to kidnap them. If that is true, I think that shows Michael was respectful to even his ex-wife to do that, which I am sure he also didn't want the kids exploited and targets of kidnapping

- Evidently, Michael thought his mother would be best to raise his kids. Personally I wouldn't have chosen her, knowing that Joseph will be involved somewhat.
Michael's substitute for his mother was designated as Diana Ross. What happened with that? Did she back out? She hasn't been mentioned at all on this page.
Of course Janet offered, with all the money that comes with it. She may have her own, but the rich always want to get richer, that's a fact. The story says she has bonded with the kids since Michael's death. If she were a good auntie, she would have bonded with them well before Michael died!!!
I'll be surprised if the rest of the family doesn't try to get in on the bandwagon.
Although I think Paris was "coached" in her funeral speech, she didn't seem maladjusted to me. I just wish I could have seen the boys as well.
Michael was trying to protect them from the public, and I think the kids understood that. He WAS their father, whether donated or adopted or whatever, he was their legal father and that's all that should be said about the matter. Rowe should be kicked to the curb immediately. She was no kind of mother to them at all and is just interested in the money as well. I would hope a judge would know that. From what I previously read, she signed off on her parental rights, so there should be no argument for her now.
I was definitely not a fan (except when they were the "5")but I'll never believe the charges he faced. They were all money-making scams, and those kids (the accusers) will no doubt be messed up for the rest of their lives, no matter how much money they "made" off of him.
I believe he did the best he knew how considering what he had to work with. He definitely didn't have role models in his parents. - Reply to this comment
- I jsut want to say that I am also sadden by the sudden death of Michael. He was The "King of Pop". I wish that people would step back a minute and realize that we have know idea what it was to live the life as the "king of Pop'. What every one should be focusing on right now is who is going to be the best provider for the childern. Janet has seemed to bonded well with the kids and she seems to be the one with a good head on her shoulders. Everyone has issues there past and can you just imagine if yours was plastered all over Tv, the internet and magazines. Michael was right about one thing, we need to love eachother, and stop judging.

- 80& of all kids born & raised into the Jehovah's Witnesses oppressive Watchtower organization (like father Micheal was) will LEAVE.
Most of the original 9 Jackson kids especially Janet rejected the cult.
I pray to GOD that these children don't get indoctrinated by the apocalyptic Jehovah's Witnesses same goes for all kids everywhere. This destructive religion breaks up loving families.

They need to be placed with someone who will help to undo all the psychological damage that has been done to them being caught up in this freak show.
And I suppose YOU feel "Rowe" would be the best choice. Compare to that public potty mouth, Janet is a Saint!! - Reply to this comment
- When Michael died suddenly, Janet was the first person I thought of to raise his children; she is the most logical choice; and she has her own money. She will make sure those kids receive their inheritance from their father; but most importantly she will love and nurture them and keep them from getting passed around from person to person. I raised my niece ever since she was a baby; she has a college degree and will soon be 22 years old and is the absolute love of my life. I think I just saw a headline where Janet's boyfriend just broke up with her....possibly because of the probability she will take them. You go for it Janet; with God's help, you can do it on your own; you will not regret it; those children need you. You will be blessed beyond what you can contain. (I'd almost help you if you asked.)

- I hope that one day, and one day soon that we can all live in a world where we are not judge for the color of our skin, our religion( those of us that have one), how we dress, disease that we have, or the life we had growing up. I couldn't imagine growing up in a house were you was beatup all the time, being an adult and getting ridicule by the way your face looked to the point you changed your looks. Who are we to judge what has happen in this man's life. Trust me and I do mean trust there is only one judge regardless if we want to sit back argue back and forth what's right or what's wrong, if he did what he was accused of or what he was found not guilty of. All of us need to go outside and sweep our own doorsteps

- Amen dustbunny the good book say those that Judge will be Judge with the same Judgment. I believe we have lost a great Icon and I havnt heard one person say what good things that MJ done in his life he had a heart of gold and gave when he seen a need. You cant say that about alot of entertainers and know I am not JW I am a christian and the God I believe in says all we have to do to be saved is believe that Jesus die for our sins and make Him our Savior. Do I believe that MJ will be Reserective I believe if he made Jesus his savior than yes I believe he will be resrective one day when our Lord and savuor returns as the scriptures says The dead and Christ shall rise first shall rise up into glory. Now its not my place to say rather MJ was saved that would be Judging rather he made it to Heaven and there is only one Judge our Father in haven. I just pray for the best for the children and have put them in Gods hands. as far as MJ as a father I think he was the best father he knew how to be and as far as coving there faces I think he was just trying to protect them from the media besides he did know what it was like to be in the media at a very young age. R.I.P. MJ
- That is the Best thing that could happen for the Children, Janet has the Ability! Time! Talent! to raise her Niece and Nephews.
I have prayed about this and God will bless this endevor.
I ask Janet to Pray about the Jehovah's Witnesses... don't get overly involved till you Hear from God The Almighty Father...
All Blessings to the Jackson Family..
Janet, you have OUR support!!!!!

- Good to go bravo Janet!
Michael Jackson was estranged from the Jehovah's Witnesses and NOW the Watchtower Jehovah's Witnesses are making propaganda that they made him 'happy'.
Once one studies the history of the Watchtower organization, one begins to understand that many of the Jehovah's Witnesses rules are just man made laws that have little or no Bible authority, like saying MJ is coming back in a mortal resurrection.
Do a web index keyword search of Jehovah Witness read the pro and con about this group.

- I was born 3rd generation Jehovah's Witness 1957,and am the same age (51) as Michael Jackson,I remember the Jackson 5 debut in 1968 they were BIG.
MJ was baptized a Jehovah's Witness and then disfellowshipped/disassociated/excommunicated to be shunned.
A lot of my dysfunctional life is directly related to my apocalyptic Watchtower sect upbringing indoctrination and I wonder about same with Michael Jackson?
There are a million hurting EXJW kids out there. Best regards,Danny Haszard - Reply to this comment

- What a small world Danny! I too was rased as a third generation witness and was born in 1956, however I did learn to count and I'm 53. I've also remained loyal to my faith. I've seen your frequent posts to anything mentioning Jehovah's Witnesses and realize you are disturbed about your "disfellowshipping" but man, give it a rest. You either you have a lot of hate or alot of time on your hands. Yes, there are millions of hurting exJW kids out there but they are there because they CHOSE to be there, just like you. You have to work hard to get disfellowshipped and it's all based on YOUR attitude. Your life is dysfuntional because of many factors I'm sure, but some of those choices were yours. Come on son! Take some responsibility in your life for a change. And to all of you Danny Haszard fans out there, the way of the "Truth" is the best way of living, not like your hero, living in front of his computor looking for any oportunity to bash decent, hard working people who don't cater to Danny's hatred.
Come on back Danny, even King Manassa was forgiven and he passed his son's through the fire, you haven't done that yet, or have you????

- i am 14 years old and im being raised a Jehovah's witness. i am now an unbaptised publisher. i truly believe that mj is going to be resurrected.the reason i think mj 'made' his children wear veils is so that the media wouldnt ruin their lives or get involved in their lives and i dont blame him for that. i think janet jackson would be a great 'mother' to his children. to everyone who has a negative comment to make about us,Jehovah's witnesses we take no offense. everyone has an opinion and are free to say what they want.for those who have a problem with the rules such as no blood transfusion, Jehovah has those rules so he could protect us and you need to understand that. Being a part of the christain congregation of Jehovah's witness has a positive effect on me. i can open my mind an now see what i really want in my life or what i want to do.so please dont hate on my religion. a group of us talked to a young man today who said that he has no religion anymore because he stopped going to church. he said when he went back everything was hazy. when i go to the kingdom hall i listen carefully because i want to be in paradise and i know everyone does because God placed the desire to live forever in everyone's heart. i agree that mj's children should have a say. i think mj wanted them with his mom for that reason. so they'll be raised as witnesses. what i find good is having and open mind about situations and that's what i do. i know for a 14 year old i have alot to say. i apologize if i offended anyone i didnt mean to. i wish the jackson family best of luck and hope everything goes well.

- I am just now reading the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures and I find it to make the most sense out of all the Christian Bibles I've read. You keep with your faith, kiddo. Jehovah knows those of us who are faithful to Him and His commandments.
- I used to date a man who was raised JW. He was a really messed up person. He finally refused to attend services anymore when he was 14. He told me that he had no childhood, no birthday parties, no Christmas, no fun. Just being drug from house to house to preach. It sounds like a real depressing religion. These kids have already been thru enough. I truly hope that they are not subjected to the JW way of life.
