Jon Engaged? What Will Kate Say?

(CBS)  Jon Gosselin, star of the reality television show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," is back from a to ritzy St. Tropez in the French Riviera with new his girlfriend, 22-year-old Hailey Glassman.

And now, there are engagement rumors circulating about the new couple -- just weeks after Kate Gosselin filed for divorce.

InTouch magazine reported the supposed engagement Wednesday, saying Jon bought Glassman a $100,000 dollar ring that features a skull with four black diamonds around it.

"There are multiple sources who say that Jon Gosselin is, in fact, engaged to Hailey Glassman," Amy Palmer, a senior editor of InTouch Weekly magazine, told "The Early Show" Thursday.

An US magazine source close to Jon refuted the story the same day, saying the rumors were "100 percent false."

People magazine's recent interview with Jon confirmed the two are dating, but not engaged.

In France, cameras followed the couple's every move. They were seen enjoying champagne on a luxury yacht.

But who is this new, younger woman?

Jon met Hailey when she was 19 years old, according to Palmer, who says she's the daughter of Kate's plastic surgeon.

And where has Kate been while Jon's been jet-setting -- and possibly getting engaged?

She's apparently been at home, taking care of couple's eight kids.

And now, she may be faced with a new set of challenges, according to Palmer.

"Kate Gosselin now has a situation where she has to look at the fact that Jon is engaged to a 22-year-old party girl," Palmer said. "Is this the kind of woman that Kate wants her children around? This could lead to a real problem if there is a custody battle."

I watched the show once. Would rather watch table for 10 or what ever it was called. Show I watched I was not impressed with Jon's patience for his children. Kate needed to be set straight with husband and let her children do more things. Don't worry about the mess. learn to love, enjoy and let mess slide . kids come first. I raised my child, state foster parent and sdoped 2 and raising yhem and have been married for 33 years. Marriage is just like a job, need to work at it with give and take but children always come first, they didn't ask to be born.

Jon had proven he's a jackass from day 1. He's the most self centered guy around. His public appearance supports these thoughts. While I'm sure Kate, while quite stunning, is no easy lady to live with, along it was obvious that Jon was never into the kids as a live in day, preferred his skateboard trips over time with the kids. I wasn't surprised when these two broke up...Jon hooking up with that blonde kid will find himself in divorce court again, as his MO won't change. Kate, I'm sure a terrific mom, with see the joy she deserves.

He bought her an engagement ring with skulls on it? What is he, 14? You couldn't have paid me to watch these boring, poor excuses for parents and their TV show. I have something called a life and I live it. This Jon is a disgrace to his children. ONE time I watched about 5 minutes of that show just to see what all the hype was. Everyone else was raising the children for her and she was walking around with some cockatoo looking bird haircut yelling and ranting at everyone. YUCK!

I enjoyed watching the John and Kate+8 show till they decided to break up. I think they should take the show away from them and Jon should find another way to support himself insted of using his kids to earn money to send him on ski trips and give him the money to date other women. Do you really think he'd be such a catch without the money the kids helped him earn? I think not.

Jon's a dog. He's thinking about his kids "every ten minutes" while lazing with another woman on the Riviera. Yeah right. If he really thought about his kids at all, he'd have worked things out with their MOTHER for their benefit.

He's a jerk. What a cliche of a man. Buying a woman a ring with a skull and diamonds.

Kate'll be ok. She's strong. Hope a judge slaps some restrictions on Jon for visiting those kids he thinks so much of.
