Fired Worker Accused Of Trashing Fast Food Eatery

Angry Fast-food Worker Accused Of Tearing Up Jack In The Box Restaurant After Being Fired

(AP)  Gainesville police are seeking an employee who tore up the fast-food restaurant, damaging cash registers and ruining some meals after he was fired. Sgt. Belva McClinton said a warrant was being prepared Tuesday for a 20-year-old man on criminal mischief charges.

McClinton said the fired Jack in the Box worker caused more than $1,500 in damage on Saturday afternoon. No co-workers or customers were hurt.

McClinton told The Associated Press that a boss had pulled the worker aside and fired him over some "performance issues." The angry employee damaged two cash registers, a shake maker, some headset equipment for the drive-thru window and several meals.

The man fled before police arrived.
