(AP)  Steven Rattner, head of the Obama administration's auto task force, is leaving that post and will be replaced by former steelworkers official Ron Bloom.

The administration said Monday that Rattner decided to return to private life and his family in New York City.

Rattner won praise for the job he did managing the massive restructuring of General Motors and Chrysler. But his government service came under a cloud with an investigation of an influence peddling scandal back in New York.

Authorities have said that Rattner, an investment banker, was unlikely to face charges in the investigation which involved a giant state pension fund that provides retirement benefits for more than 1 million government employees.

In a statement, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner praised Rattner's work on the auto industry overhaul.

"We are extremely grateful to Steve for his efforts in helping strengthen GM and Chrysler, recapitalize GMAC and support the American auto industry," Geithner said. "I hope that he takes another opportunity to bring his unique skills to government service in the future."

Rattner will be replaced by Bloom. He assumes leadership of the task force's activities as the government transitions from day-to-day restructuring to "protecting the substantial investment the American taxpayers have made in GM, Chrysler and GMAC," Geithner said.

The public option and green jobs are only tools for Obama to carry out his master plan. People and businesses have figured out what his plan is and are scared to death of him. Read the following and you will see why the Obama stimulus is not stimulating and why the economy will not start bouncing back until after the 2010 election. And that is only if his master plan fails.
As part of his strategic plan, Barack Obama has been surrounding himself with czars and officers that are responsible only to him. One such a czar is Obama?s FCC Chief Diversity Officer, Mark Lloyd, who is a former senior fellow at George Soros?s Center for American Progress and a consultant to Soros?s Open Society Institute. Mark Lloyd is a believer that the same methods used in the Venezuela revolution to bring Hugo Chavez to power should be modeled in the US and that the first amendment (Freedom of Speech) should not be used to prevent localism. View video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF2C235fD7o
As long as Congress rubber-stamps Obama?s agenda, his czars and officers will not rise to the forefront. However, as soon as the leftist congress is voted out of power, the Obama and Soros shadow government will use the czars and officers to by-pass Congress entirely. With midterm elections being over a year away, there is plenty of time for them to put together their civilian army of strong-arms like union thugs, prisoners and black panthers, who would operate under the umbrella of Organizing for America (OFA) and ACORN. Why else was stimulus money sent to prisoners other than to recruit them to do their work? Why else were charges against the black panthers dropped for brandishing a nightstick at the entrance of a poling place, pointing it at voters and making racial threats? Watch theses videos-

The Birmingham News reported that groups like Organizing for America (OFA) and ACORN were organizing volunteers to canvas for Obama's agenda. The iconography of the OFA marketing material is bizarre: it is affiliated not with the Democrat Party, but Barack Obama himself. They urge to enlist others who share the Obama vision. According to DeHaven, one of their organizers, "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."
With the insidious GIVE Act, which provides $5.7 billion to groups like ACORN and OFA to create 250,000 "paid volunteer" jobs, that will play a role in Obama?s re-election campaign, we can only pray that Obama?s shadow government can be stopped and the taxpayer funded "paid volunteer" security force will never become stronger that our military or local law enforcement. brianbwb-well my race baiting lib, if you say this mess started in the 70's would that be about the time of that wonderful administration-jimma carter?? Yea, those were the good old days. I do believe the blame America and all Americans started about then. There was that wonderful speech jimma drawled, written by chris mathews (tingle up his leg fame), saying all the worlds ills stemmed from us, our greed, our lifestyle. Yea, good times all.
Say, brianbwb, just how many czars does your messiah need? Doesn't it just bother you a little bit that these guys are not elected and get no vetting? If a Republican did this, would it be ok with you??

After pension funds are blown out and retirement accounts are looted, Steve-the-Rat Rattner made sure that JP Morgan and Citicorpse got 100 cent-on-the-dollar

while pension fund holders were wiped out for pennies on the dollar and hands over the carcasses of what was left of our machine-tool capacity

to a bunch of locusts and maggots in Italy.

Now that the work of Stevie-the-rat is finished, he steps down for Obama the puppet of Wall Street/City of London to take the political heat

and his face used for target practice for political sh_t throwing.

"[...] his government service came under a cloud with an investigation of an influence peddling scandal back in New York"

Wow...its just hard to find anybody with "business experience" who isn't tainted.

Of course, one look at the nation's economy and it is perfectly obvious that no one has been looking out for the public's - and thus the nation's - interests for some time.

Which, in turn, suggests that there is enough taint in both business and Washington to make the lack of a stench up and down I-95 something of a miracle.

It is not hard, it is impossible. Since business is by it's nature tainted, anyone with experience is also tainted.

As far as the economy, no one has ever been looking out for the public interest, the whole idea of government was simply to mitigate competing corruption, so that they wouldn't morph into mafia-style inter-business wars, and to make sure that the money stayed concentrated in as few hands as possible, that the public would not rise up and depose such persons from power.

The entire concept of the US government is based on corruption, as is the concept of "big" business.

To the hysterical critics- Don't forget to add that Obama kidnapped the Lindberg baby. All this far right hysteria is so tiresome. Obama deserves a chance to get things moving; it will take some time to turn this freighter around.

You must be an independent contractor, self employed, but out of work for the last 18 months, haven't paid any taxes ( income or social security ) for the last 15 years. Eminantly qualified to make such a judgement on the plan. Must be from one of those red states.
