Child Climber to Trek 14 Peaks for Friend

(CBS)  Matt Moniz is one of the world's youngest mountain climbers.

The 11 year old from Boulder, Colo. has scaled three of the world's seven summits, including South America's tallest peak, the 22,000-foot Cerro Aconcagua, Europe's tallest mountain, Mount Elberus, and Africa's famed Mount Kilamanjaro.

And now he's climbing in his home state of Colorado for a cause that is close to his heart. CBS News correspondent Priya David reported on "The Early Show" Friday, Moniz is attempting to climb 14 14,000-foot mountains in 14 days. The effort is to help to raise money for his best friend 9-year-old Ian Hess, who suffers from pulmonary arterial hypertension.
