A beauty survey commissioned by the British beauty brand Nephria found women spend almost three years of their life getting ready to leave the house, according to Marie Claire magazine.
And what about the men?
They're left waiting an average of 17.42 minutes each time, while their partners finish getting ready. That adds up to a day and a half a year and almost three months during their lifetime.
The results are based on a poll of 3,000 of Nephria brand users.
As for women, they take an average of an hour and 12 minutes getting ready -- the equivalent of three years over a lifetime.
But what takes so long?
Women spend 22 minutes showering and shaving their legs, seven minutes moisturizing, 23 minutes styling/drying their hair, 14 minutes on make-up, and six minutes getting dressed, according to the survey.
But "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez said on "The Early Show" Friday, she spends just 34 minutes getting ready at work and at home.
She said, "Ask my husband, (it's) absolutely true."

There's one word that will get a woman out of the house pronto. ..... SHOPPING!
That's not true. Don't be lumping all women together.
How is it that they can take over 2/3 of the closet space but NEVER have anything to wear?
...and why do they need so many shoes when they only have two feet?
If it was Shania we are talking about, I say 'yeah, yeah, yeah......especially now that she is divorced and I am single. She's still hot. "Girl, you take all the time you need I'll be waiting for you!"
John, get a grip! You don't think Shania is going to go for YOU, do ya? Hahahaha!
I wonder how much time men waste following sports in their lifetime, while their women remain long and suffering, in addition to their men demanding that they be accepting of this? Along the same lines, how much time do men waste in finishing home projects they conveniently avoid, in favor of following some sport's game? I know many women who don't waste this much time getting ready for their significant other. If anything, were they not to primp and prepare, their men folk would rail against them and say degrading comments towards the way they look.
YEEEAH!!
I think this may be the first time I have agreed with you. : )
This is what a woman wants...
Any man of mine better be proud of me
Even when I'm ugly he still better love me
And I can be late for a date that's fine
But he better be on time
Any man of mine'll say it fits just right
When last year's dress is just a little too tight
And anything I do or say better be okay
When I have a bad hair day
And if I change my mind
A million times
I wanna hear him say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line
Better show me a teasin' squeezin' pleasin' kinda time
I need a man who knows, how the story goes
He's gotta be a heartbeatin' fine treatin'
Breathtakin' earthquakin' kind
Any man of mine
Well any man of mine better disagree
When I say another woman's lookin' better than me
And when I cook him dinner and I burn it black
He better say, mmmm, I like it like that yeah
And if I changed my mind
A million times
I wanna hear him say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I like it that way

EVEN when I try to tick her by increasing the time we actually need to leave by 1/2 hour, she STILL runs late! GO FIGURE!
I think they just wait until we say "IT's time to go!", then we get the standard answer " I'll be there in a SEC!" ... which means 1/2 hour later!
Anyone who denies that men and women think differently is a moron or has never met the opposite gender. Women--you can't leave with them and you can't leave without them :)>
Some women need to spend more time primping.

- I have read dating books aimed at women that advise them to intentionally make men wait as a psychological tool. Apparently the common belief among women is that they will be more desirable if the man has to cool his heels waiting for them.

See all 18 Comments!7.42 minutes is way too low of an average wait time, two or three times that is far more likely.
But to hear men talk, you get the idea that being late makes a bad impression. Since almost all women make men wait, they all are equally desirable or reprehensible so being chronically late accomplishes nothing.
