Doctor: Michael Jackson Was an Addict

Long-Term Dermatologist Says Jackson Battled Addiction, Used Anesthetic To Sleep; Dodges Paternity Question

(CBS)  A long-time dermatologist and friend of Michael Jackson told CNN's Larry King that the singer battled drug addiction, and that he advised him it was "absolutely insane" to use Diprivan, an anesthetic as a sleep aid.

"Michael at one time had an addiction," Dr. Arnold Klein told King. "He went to England and withdrew from that addiction in a secure setting where he went off drugs all together."

Klein said that he knew that while Jackson was on tour in Germany, he was using Diprivan, with the help of an anesthesiologist, to go to sleep at night.

"I told him he was absolutely insane," Klein said. "This isn't a drug you can repeatedly take."

Complete coverage of Jackson's death

When King asked Klein how he thinks Jackson obtained the anesthetic, Klein replied, "The rich and famous can buy anything they want to buy."

Klein saw Jackson the Monday before he died, and said that the King of Pop was dancing in his office.

"He was in very good physical condition," Klein said. "He was mentally aware when we saw him and in a very good mood."

The dermatologist was helping Jackson "rebuild his face" before his fall tour.

"He had severe acne scarring and scarring from a lot of the cosmetic surgery," Klein said. "He looked much more normal … the way he looked at his face, he wanted it to be absolutely perfect."

King asked why Jackson, as an attractive young man, wanted to have so much plastic surgery.

"I don't know why he started," Klein said. "Family members had made fun of the size of his nose. He was very sensitive to that."

King asked Klein if he was the sperm donor for Jackson's three children. Klein said that he has donated sperm to a sperm bank in the past, but, "to the best of my knowledge I'm not the father."

"Here's the most important thing: Michael loved those children as a father … I'm not going to answer that the way you want. The most important is who the father is, who the children want their father to be … how he loved them and they loved him."

I personally thought Michael was a brilliant songwriter, and a very good performer.
This though does not take away from the fact that he had issues.
Major issues.
It is a shame that Mr Sharpton always seems to be in the mix AFTER someone either dies, or is a wronged African American.
Michael had a drug problem, a plastic surgery fettish, and many other problems that were all enabled by those around him, from his Doctors to some of his friends and family.
This is the biggest shame, that these people were either apperantly scared of losing thier paycheck, or thier titles with Michael, that they did nothing to assist him in getting the help he needed.
I feel that his legacy as a performer will live on, as well as his legacy of abuse, hand in hand.
You dont pay 20 million to an acuser if you did nothing wrong.
I would'nt, nor would most.
He is dead, gone, and at his own hand.

shame, everlasting shame on those of you who still Falsely accuse the most talented and rightious man on this earth.except Michael ,You are all addicted to Sex,Play boy,Alcohol,Junk Food and Substances but you are blind and can not look at yourself in the mirror inorder to change yourself , The only person who lived a blessed life and Suffered the most for his beautiful heart was Michael Jackson,The One and Only King of Pop,He was the greatest humanitarian of all time full of Jesus Love for the world and specially for the children(That Kind of love is the True Love because it is not Sextual but Spritual,Jesus Is Love) and although He had Lupus,Skin Disease(FYI:He DID NOT Bleach his skin you can ask God to give you that Skin Disease to experience for yourself) and terrible and painful burned skull , he filled the world with Joy,He helped millions of people to overcome their barriers,He was in excrusiating pain not only physically but emotionally , YOU , who Still Falsely accuse him,YOU, killed an Angel ,Thank God that I am not living in The USA , May the World Judge you, The way you Judged The most Innocent Man on this World .

Addiction/alcoholism is a complex disease, most often fatal. Death by overdose is the 2nd greatest cause of death for young people in the USA (auto accidents 1st and gun accidents 3rd - this is for all age groups- both death by auto and gun are most certainly increased by alcohol/drug use). This ignorant pretense that drug/alcohol addicts are somehow unusual really needs to end. Obesity (also a compulsive disorder) kills too. And so we hate fat people too. It's interesting to think about the connections between the haters (supposedly 'normal' people) and the hated - alcoholics and other addicts. Me? I choose to love the hated. Go figure. Guess I'm not normal. Thank God.

Yes, Mr. Jackson was sick. When you are addicted to any thing, its hard to deal with. That is why it an addiction. You need help! But the doctors knew this, and sould not have giving him drugs. You always check what others doctors have given. If possibe drug seeking cut off all hard drugs. The man was sick like any other man or woman. Dont hate it could be any one at any given time. Thank god for your health, none of use knows what down the road called life can see what tomorrow bring.

If I had but one wish,
it would be the same as yours.

If only I could share but one gift upon the world.
This one single gift would be the same as yours.

I wish the gift of life.
All right.

If only none would die.
I wish no one to experience poverty in life.
Would that really be a beautiful world?

There would still be crime. Right?
There would still be discrimination. Right?
Alternatively, do we have these problems, due the fact we all desire life?

If I could change my wish,
the change would be the same as yours.

If only I could bring peace into the world.
There would be unity between all men, women, boys and girls.

I a child
grew up and embraced The King of Pop, named Mike.
Michael Jackson with my child is flying high.
The people we love and lost are with our God on High.
Now close your eyes in silent prayer.
...............................................................................
...............................................................................

If only tears could heal the world.
Just think "what a beautiful world."
If only love could keep everyone alive.
Just think, "What a beautiful world."

People can say a black man cannot be the father of a blond haired child.
I say,
a father gains his badge by caring for that child's life.

Shh,
ignorant person,
did you not know that God is listening to you?

Shh,
jealous person,
the one you speak harshly about,
may be the person standing guard at God's Doors.

Do not worry;
I am sure Michael Jackson is blowing a kiss from Heaven right about now.

the drug jackson was taking was not one that is typically abused. He took it to fall asleep. Actually, to fall unconcious. Whoever the doctor was that gave him the medication, they should be in jail. Jackson needed good medical help, instead he got some hack doctor that killed him.

i am just wondering don't you people have a little thing called L.I.F.E???? MJ was a significant musician, and he will always be remembered by his music, his legacy as an artist will still live on regardless.(oh yeah and the little boys stories by some). as far as i am concerned none of you will ever know the truth about the things that went on in his bedroom.as for the Drs and their wrong calls -thats the job of the police to investigate, and it wouldnt help actually whether you wasted your time writing about it or not! He was an addict thats that, why do you have to prove anything, he is dead, why even talk about it??? whats gonna change? the world would become a better place once you establish the truth about his addictions and personal beliefs?
seriously people get a life!!!!!!!!!! this is my first and last comment on this thread! not going to waste my time on your replies!
P.S there are many more other ways you can make the world a better place!
peace out!

I believe these are all lies about Micheal being an addict to these very dangerous drugs. Here again, those who wish to do him harm are setting up a false frame to make it look like he killed himself and there was no foul paly involved.

I grew up with MJ's music I am the same age.
This is for all of the horrible things that ingorant people are saying about him. I ask you- Do you know what it is like to be a Superstar?
I bet not! I know what it's like first hand to be in the Spot light and I got out.The life syle is not the way I wanted to live.
This was his JOB. He wanted to be different he was an artist,
he was never convicted of anything! He gave to charity's all over the world!! What did you give? He was childlike himself and just wanted to be left alone so he could walk down a street in peace. Don't ever judge another, until YOU walked in their shoes shame on YOU. What kind of parents do you have that never taught you to respect the dead and never if you don't have anything nice to say DON'T SAY ANYTHING!!!!!
REST IN PEACE MICHEAL I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.

Doctor says Michael was addict. Doper eventually killed himself with an overdose, as often happens with dopers. Bury the poor bstrd and be done with him.

I agree.... why not leave MJ alone.. He is not with us anymore!!! let him rest in peace..... Stop all the criticisms, the judgements etc.. about him.... Before u judge him why not stand infront of a mirror and ask yourself if you are a perfect person to judge someone like MJ!!!!! No one in this world is perfect!!!! Leave him alone, and leave his family most especially his kids alone... Instead of criticizing, why not pray for his soul, and pray for his family and kids....

Someone have to introduce you to the medicine/drug, preferably a doctor in Michael's case because he didn't score these drugs off the streets. It goes to show you how low one will go for the love of money to not help but hurt someone for their own gain. Kind of controversial, the entire ordeal. God be with them all.

Farewell Michael Jackson
(Love You Into Eternity)

A spirit of love
Blessed from our Lord above
Embraced by strong arms
Michael endured it all
With the Lord at his side
Walking close as his guide

The world so evil ran its course
But Michael sang love with his voice
None other have I seen
None other will there ever be
A person of Michael status
For he was the first and last at it

As Michael take wings to fly up on high
To greet the Lord beyond that big sky
We earthlings will miss him so much
His love, his music and all he offered,
Including his ever gentle touch
Michael was truly a gift from the Most High
Whom was bless to us all for a little while

Memories are what we must now share
Michael?s fine and now he?s in the best care
Through all his ups and downs he may have faced
The Lord kept him to endure the race
Now his end his finally come
So will our end-in this race we must run.

I was walking to the store with my sighted friend and we were talking about Michael Jackson. I can walk outside in peace. He could not. That was the saddest thing. He never had a normal life. He in fact robbed of a childhood by first a father that demanded he and his brothers become musician -Joe Jackson was the problem. Michael was forced into that job from as small child up. People controled him as he was a money maker. It is a problem with the medical people they make money,
I watehed the service on TV and it was lovely. I heard a little girl cry at the lost of her father. An Aunt there to hold a sobbing girl. It was Janet Jackson ,her Aunt Janet.
It partly Michael's blame and also the Drs, blame. I tell them Docs I will only take what is needed. The drug companies run ads on TV. They make money. Mr Jackson not the only who had problems with sleep. He was not the only one living with pain. There is no magic pill to heal -I am just a layperson. The Jackson lost a loved one.

Except Michael also settled one boys parents law suit out of court. O.J. was found not guilty, then wrote a book about if he did it. Bury the poor bstrd. He was a crazy, wantabe white woman doper, who took the doper way out of life. Bury him and forget him. Nancy was right to not allow a resolution fight on the House floor.

I love how despite being cleared in court, the simple white trash decides they have to be better than someone who was a giant compared to the low life trash you people are.
